My family and I put a lot of trust into the Banfield pet hospital in Foothill ranch, however we were greatly hurt and broken by their malpractice and lack of empathy. Our first dog Jiggy was only 8 when we had to put him down due to the negligence of the Banfield staff. The vet’s were overdosing our dog on certain medications that soon led to a full body failure, which we had no idea about. They continued to tell us he had pancreatitis and the best thing we could do was let him rest and keep bringing him in for fluids so he could recover, however countless testings and IVs later, we found out through Mission Emergency hospital that they were overdosing our dogs on medications that they should have been slowly lowering due to the major health risks. The vets at Banfield explained to us we needed x-rays and hundreds of tests that led us with no answer or explanation of what was happening with our beloved dog. Our dog spent his last 2 weeks in misery due to the misguidance of the vets and caretakers at Banfield. I watched my daughter fight for my dog and syringe feed him baby food and water just to keep him going due to the vets advice of continuing care because he would recover. Sadly on July 21st, 2019 Jiggy had a 3 minute seizure in my daughters arms, which led to us having to rush him to the Mission Emergency Hospital— with the words of “we do not know if he can recover from this but he will spend the rest his life on medications”. At that point in time, my daughter, son, and I made the decision to put our loving dog out of his misery. Soon after his passing, Mission hospital and his online medication company reached out to us apologizing for the situation and wishing us the best. However, when we cancelled our future appointments with Banfield and explained to them how we had to put him down, we received nothing. Not a single “I am sorry for your loss” or even a call from the vet. Instead we got a call from the Banfield corporation saying we still needed to pay the insurance for our deceased dog. This company had no respect for us after bringing our dog there for 8 years. 8 years we trusted the vets at Banfield, however that was the biggest mistake I have ever made. Our family is devastated and we still have sore hearts from losing our companion, and we urge whoever reads this. Do not bring your pet to Banfield! The company is very selfish and will only care about the bill in the end. The insurance you are paying for though Banfield will not cover if the vet at Banfield refers you to  pet hospital or specialist who is not affiliated with Banfield. I would give zero star

I went to the Banfield in Urbana Pike , Frederick They are always willing to accommodate your needs , always available to help. I had Kevin as the nurse for my pet Milo , Couldn’t ask for a better nurse same as Dr McDonald she was wonderful and the receptionist was really nice. Milo wasn’t feeling good and she made sure I got the appointment the same date I will recommend this location 100%

My dog was a patient at Banfield for 16 years he just passed on November 20, 2019. He was basically a healthy dog all his life but this last year I could see he was getting tired and really showed his age i knew this would probably be his last year with us. My biggest complaint with Banfield was my last day in their clinic my boy was on his last days and couldn't walk so I took him in I knew it was time to let him go and the vet confirmed. But he let me know they couldn't put him down that day, which I didn't want anyways because my daughter was not with me. He was very cold and said I would have to make an appointment. When I went out to pay I broke down immediately. The girls at the front desk out me in a room so I could calm down. Not one person came in to check on me or console me. When I did come out the were quick to tell me I still had to pay my monthly payment until April. My boy ended up passing away the next day at our house which I was grateful for I knew putting him down was going to be so hard. I called the Vet's office and let them know and all she said was I will update your account and once again reminded me that I still owe them money. I didn't get one call from a vet or staff member with condolences on the loss of my boy. After 16 years I assumed at least that would happened. It really hurt me. Very disappointing. I will not use them in the future for that very reason!

They don't care.

I took my cat to have him declawed and neutered. Prior to the appointment I was told the price would be $200. When I got to the clinic I was told it would be $231, I paid half. When I got home I was told the charge was $341. Of course I was livid. How can a national company have that much discrepancy in their fees? Especially with everything being electronic. As a disabled veteran I don't have $150 laying around. OK, the bill was paid. When I brought my cat home, I noticed bleeding and his joints exposed. I called Banfield and they told me to bring him back and they would wrap his feet. They brought him back to my with unwrapped feet and said they reglued the skin around his paws. I took him back home. later that evening there was blood all over the floor, I'm unable to comfort the cat, and Banfield is closed. I had to dose the cat again with pain medicine and put him in his cage to confine him and help him sleep. Personally, I feel the doctor at Banfield butchered my cat. I have never seen surgery so horrendous. I've had 3 cats declawed before and none of them looked so butchered. And I'm a registered nurse, so I know what butchering looks like!! What do I want? I want them (Banfield) to keep my cat in house without charge until my cats paws are healed (2-3) days and medicate him appropriately. Or pay for the emergency room bill that I will incur when I take him to an ER doctor to correct the butcher job done at Banfield. Now this is cruelty to animals

Love Banfield Hospital in Woodstock Georgia. Best place ever. Staff is caring and love Dr. Burns. Our three pugs are so well taken care of. Great wellness plans, been using them for over 10 years. Can’t say enough about how incredible they are.

There Doctors are great but the billing department sucks. The people at the desk tell you one thing and then you start getting calls that you owe more and that it was only for this time. Its ridiculous and outrageous. I will deal with regular Vets from now on.

I have been with the for 7 years now and year after year they get worse and worse. I just got a puppy and twice now they wouldn’t make time to see her when she was crying with a UTI (even though I begged) and forced me to go to a local hospital. They don’t care at all now other than getting more and more customers (aka money money money) then don’t actually provide the services they claim to. So disappointing and will no longer be their customer.
