AquaTruReviews of aquatru.com

I’ve been using my filter for a few weeks now and I’m genuinely loving it! The water tastes so clean and fresh, and it feels good knowing it's removing microplastics and other contaminants. It’s easy to use, looks great on my counter, and honestly makes me drink more water throughout the day. The size is perfect for me, though I could see myself wanting something larger if I had guests over often. Overall, I’m really happy with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a sleek, reliable water filtration system.

Love love love! Better than a Brita

Tried to use their contact form for a question about what TDS I should expect but they kept requesting kaptchas in a never ending loop, so after playing their stupid games over a dozen times, I had to give up

I purchased the AquaTru Carafe model from their official website over a year ago, and it has worked flawlessly ever since. The water quality is excellent, and the system is certified to remove a wide range of contaminants. It's easily one of the best countertop RO systems available. I recently needed to contact customer service, and they were fast, professional, and genuinely helpful. Given my experience, I'm honestly surprised their Trustpilot score isn't higher. From the product quality to the support, AquaTru has been outstanding for me. Highly recommended.

I have been using this system for almost two years. After several incidents with a blocked reverse osmose filter and therefore very low to zero through-put, I have now decided to no longer use the system, and replace it by a simple and gravity driven non-electric water filtering set-up. Aquatru in its current design is not sustainable for me, and replacing these filters after 1-2 months usage is just too expensive. And no, our tab water is not particularily hard. Just average.

We have the Carafe model and absolutely love it! The water tastes great, it's easy to use, and I feel good knowing that it's removing microplastics and other contaminants from our water. My kids now only fill their water bottles from there, and our dogs only get AquaTru water in their bowls! Only complaint is that I wish it were a little bigger. I like the way this model looks more than the other ones, but I might need to upgrade since we have to refill this one a lot for a family of 4 (plus 2 dogs). Highly recommend.

I purchased the aquarium carafe a few years ago. I was happy with the machine and the water tastes much better. However, I feel that the company could do a lot better, each time I order filters or anything there is always an issue - out of stock and when you email them they can take days to reply which is frustrating. And then they still do not tell you when products will be back in stock. Any item that you order incurs a £15 delivery fee even if its small and light in weight. I also feel that they are misleading customers by calling themselves Aqutru UK, when they are not based in the UK, and this is what makes communication more difficult. There is no UK phone number. If I had known about all of this I would not have purchased.

Here’s your final revised review with the additional clarification: ⸻ I’m giving this product three stars solely for its design. However, I find the filtration system flawed due to the use of plastic tanks. Whether they are BPA-free or not, we now understand that plastic leaches harmful chemicals. Many manufacturers have simply replaced BPA with other equally concerning plastics, which is a major issue. I might have been okay with unfiltered water being stored in plastic, but certainly not the filtered water. This unit is quite expensive, and given that people invest in water filters to remove toxins—including microplastics—it’s frustrating that the final product still comes into contact with plastic. Another issue is the design of the unfiltered water tank. After the filtration process is complete, more than a quarter of the water remains in the tank and has to be manually emptied. This not only leads to unnecessary water waste but also creates extra maintenance work due to limescale buildup. Finally, even the dispensing mechanism relies on plastic components. Given the price and purpose of this system, a complete redesign is needed to eliminate plastic contact where possible. Tip: Be mindful of where you place this unit, especially near heat sources or windows, as exposure to heat can accelerate plastic degradation and potentially affect water quality.
