Company does not disclose that hard water users will have to change filters every 3 months! The descaling packets do not help at all. I had to replace the green filter. Plastic container for water is not the best. This container does not fit in properly and is leaning toward the outer side. This should had been thought much better. The glass carafe is made of thin glass which cracked and i had to buy a new one. I will not recommend this product!

I am almost completely satisfied with my product. It appears to be filtering well and performing its purpose. I contacted customer service regarding the water filtration refill container that doesn’t sit in firmly, and lid doesn’t close tightly. I sent pictures and video. I was told it was fine. I shouldn’t have to hold it in to get it to start filtering.

I bought 3 of the Classic model and 2 of the Carafe model over the past 9 years based on the recommendation from a physician coworker who claimed to be a friend of the founder of Aquatru. The first Classic model was purchased about 9 years ago. It appeared to be working but it never stopped leaking water underneath slowly. I have to put it on a baking pan to collect the water and empty it every week or two. I put in new sets of filter cartridges but the leakage did not stop. I contacted Aquatru within the first year of the purchase but did not receive any response from the company. Since it appeared to be producing water into the post-filtration container, I contained to use it for almost 8 years. I finally felt tired of the leakage and threw it away about 5 months ago and bought a Carafe. I also bought a Carafe for my daughter in college slightly more than a year ago. That Carafe died last month and there was powder (like that from the terminals of a dead battery) accumulated at the power inlet socket of the machine. I wonder if there was some kind of short-circuiting issues. Since the warranty was only 12 months, I did not contact Aquatru. I bought the second Classic model for my son at college 7 years ago, and it is still working without leakage. I bought the 3rd Classic model last month after I gave my daughter my Carafe. There was no leakage the past two week. Overall, I find the quality of the Aquatru machines a hit and miss. I have never tested the quality of the filtered water; so I cannot comment on the water that these machines produce. I kept buying these machines just because my coworker almost bet his life on it. Perhaps I should start checking the quality of the filtered water some time. These machines and the filter cartridges are not exactly cheap compared with the Costco reverse osmosis filter which, unfortunately, produced a continuous dripping sound in the drain pipe under the kitchen sink. I was expecting a better quality from these Aquatru machines for the price that I paid. It is a 50/50 hit and miss so far, and I do not know the shipping cost of these heavy machines even if Aquatru agrees with fixing them.

What I like: clean and pure tasting water (after a few full run through a with water. More on this later). Decided to purchase after watching a YouTube video of someone comparing aquatru to other filters and aquatru came out on top as the overall best performer. Gives me peace of mind knowing it’s actually filtering what it claims to What I dislike: the machine itself has a small refill tank. You constantly have to refill it, especially because almost 1/4 water is left at bottom of the reservoir that goes to waste. you’re not supposed to just top off the tank with new water because that remaining water is contaminated/will encourage limescale in the machine parts. I’ve also had issues with air bubbles making the motor sound like it’s breaking. I have to “burp” the machine from time to time to get this to calm down. The 3rd con is that the VOC filter with remineralization tastes like rotten eggs for the first 10-15 run-throughs. Overall: for how expensive this machine is, it shouldn’t have the cons. But I used my Amazon points to get a steep discount on it, otherwise, probably would have sent it back

The reason for 3 stars is because the original machine died after almost a year. Aquatru did replace it for free After taking a bunch of pictures and videos to show exactly what it was doing or rather not doing.

Seems to be the quality of the glass has been reduced when compared to product purchased couple of years back . Please don’t reduce the quality of products

You’ve become a lot more expensive.

I’ve had this a couple weeks and kept wondering why the back doesn’t close all the way. Thought maybe it was the design. I finally had some time to look it up and it’s not supposed to be like that. I paid ALOT of money for this. I feel like the needs to be better! Also, why doesn’t it use all the water in the tank? I dislike that water just sits there and I have to dump it!
