Aetna Insurance SUCKS. They DENY insurance claims for a living. They will NOT authorize Brand Name refills of a drug Ive been taking for years when GENERIC is unavailable....NOT MY FAULT THAT OUR GOVERNMENT IS SO SHADY they allow these BOGUS bloodsucking companies to RUN OUT of medicine then D E N Y the "REAL" Brand for.......what....? Money? YEP. All these bullcrap websites allowing an influx of "online" prescriptions that have greatly affected us, the law abiding, tax paying citizens that GO to the SAME doctor every month and here sits crappy AETNA, BIG PHARMA and our EFFED UP GOVERNMENT. They all suck and meanwhile the Consumer goes without or largely UNANSWERED. You are horrible people and should be ashamed.

Hold and wait times is too long. Transferring callers again and again to multiple agents. Rude customer service behavior. Not meeting customer needs. Issue not resolved on the first call. Having to restate the issue over and over again. Aetna's provider service rep (Ann O.) got fustrated and transferred me to another line while I was still talking and trying to get her to understand what my call was. Total hold times was two hours and still didn't get my issue resolved.

Their drug coverage, dental coverage and hearing aid coverage are all designed so that you end up paying MORE than had you gone retail without insurance. And then there is the ‘health practitioner visit’ issue which I have told them multiple times that I am not interested in. Now they are starting to call the phone number I have listed for my emergency contact. Is this legal? They can discuss non emergency medical issues without my authorization?

My friend, Cecil Allen, is an 82 year old man who spent 9 weeks in the hospital with a heart condition and was then sent for rehab in a disgusting nursing home that smelled of urine and feces. The rehab was a joke and after 28 days his insurance denied any further therapy, home health and PT. He lives alone and was sent home with no resources. He has fallen 8 times since returning home but refuses to go back to the hospital because of suboptimal care. I’ve been an RN for over 40 years and would advise anyone who is considering Aetna HMO to please reconsider. Feel free to call me at 573-489-7883 if you would like more information about his experience.

What went wrong this time? You mean every time? I am stuck in a loop - I log in - try to access providers. It asks me to log in - then I try to access the providers and it wants me to log in again. WTH. I don't know who is running their website, but they should fired immediately. It's just the worse site I've ever been on. I feel sorry for people who are much older and trying to access this garbage.

Aetna is the absolute worst. Their customer service sucks so bad. You do not get answers on who is in network. The doctors office and practitioner you are going to calls in to Aetna and Aetna tells them they are not in network when they are in fact. I still haven’t gotten the right answers. Most of the customer reps are from different countries and barely speaks English. I will be switching plans very soon. It’s seriously a scam.

Do not choose Aetna. I saw my primary care and after an ultrasound revealed a cyst on an organ, Aetna denied the MRI. They would rather I die or get so sick need emergency surgery rather than treat my condition. They are a horrible company who values profits over keeping people alive. This company is a disgrace and contributes to the failing health of Americans. Do not give them your business or money.
