I read these reviews before making my purchase - and frankly, the negative reviews caused me to hesitate. I spent several hours reading industry reviews because I was worried about the software crashing, or failing in some way. I was also concerned because I use a Mac, and the original version of WinX DVD Ripper appears to have been designed for PC's. Ultimately, I made the purchase in spite of my reservations. I have now copied about a dozen DVD's, both unprotected as well as protected. The software has worked smoothly and quickly, and I have no complaints. From the results I am getting, it is a solid software product.

Please think very carefully before…
Please think very carefully before buying this, it is not reliable software. My first dvd copy stalled at the Analysing stage. I stopped the process and managed to finish it. However 2nd DVD again stopped before completion . Tried again but again it failed to complete.
I will be asking for a full refund.

Mixed Results with Disney Format Rip
The product wasn't able to rip a Disney format DVD with a lecture on it (it rips these for movies without a problem, I'm told, a feature most rippers do not have) because there were so many spoof versions on it that would require a lot of manual selection and time, so I returned the product and received my money back.
For my trouble, though my needs were specific and couldn't be met this time, they offered me a free license in the future in the event that the product is able to achieve the result I had purchased it for, or should I need the product in the future.

Absolute crap: No Customer service or way to reach anyone
Downloaded the trial version WinX DVD converter and it worked fine (but just for about 40 seconds of the video as a trial). So I then bought the program on line. The product key didn't work. Tried many, many times. Sent emails to their customer service address that came bouncing back as undelivered because server "cant be found." The only listed phone number for them is in China, where the call would cost me more than the software. I'll now call my credit card company, file a dispute, and eventually get my refund. A giant waste of time. This company should not be allowed to operate internationally if they can't sell a working product or provide decent customer service. Stay away from WinX!

Have had the software less than a week…
Have had the software less than a week after paying for it, it took 2x as long as hand break which is free, it doesnt use the gpu as claimed. My 2080 sits idle, then the rip runs its course and fails at the last second. Ask for a refund and they want to co ruinously give me tutorials that I dont want and send a crap ton of screenshots I have already wasted to much time and am not interested in there support which I have told them. 30 day money back gaurentee means money back, dont waste my time with this crap. Just refund my money. I have already sent an email to tech radar which gave them a positive review on garbage software. Oh yea and aparently it's my hardware at fault, even though I work in tech and my rig probably runs circles around there's. DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM 30 DAY MONEY BACK GAURENTEE IS FRAUD.

Save Your Sanity - Don’t Purchase Win X Dvd Ripper Platium
After researching the best programs to back up my DVDs, I was persuaded to downloaded a “FREE” copy of Win X DVD Ripper. However, it only took a short time to realise that the “FREE” version was a waste of time and energy, as it would only allow me to copy a maximum of 5 minute of any DVD and therefore, there was no way that I could verify if the product would actually work.
I should have quit while I was ahead, but I downloaded Win X DVD Platinum. After all, according to all the promotional information the product could copy anything, and then of course there was the 30 day money back guarantee.
I tried ripping several DVD in MP4 format (as recommended) but in most cases I ended up with only a small fraction of the DVD, so I requested help from “Support”, giving them the details of my findings. I received a quick response with several suggestions I should try. I tried their suggestions, including using “Safe Mode” and checking that the DVD played properly, to no avail. Off my own bat, I tried cloning a DVD to an ISO Image, but had no success. Once again I advised “Support” of my findings.
Obviously, “Support” did not read my findings as they then suggested that I try to Clone a DVD to an ISO Image. I did try once again and supplied “Support” with the full details of my findings. In this particular case, after waiting over 3 hours and only having 52% completed I gave up in frustration and cancelled the program. In response, “Support” once again requested that I check to see that the DVD can play normally.
It is really frustrating when “Support” kept requesting that I try something that they have previously suggested and I have already commented on.
I then encountered another problem, namely a DVD that I was trying to back up contained 3 episodes, but Win X DVD Ripper only recognised one episode and only copied 1/3 of the DVD. The response from “Support” was that I send them screen shots about the steps taken.
By this time I was frustrated at being treated as a guinea pig and do trialling and testing on a program which obviously had deficiencies in respect of ripping and cloning previously burned DVDs, ripping and cloning original DVDs, and ripping DVDs that contain several episodes, and I advised “Support” accordingly.
In the meantime, I trialled another 5 DVDs and found that whilst one played correctly, the other 4 just stopped unexpectedly about 10 minutes from the end. Obviously, this was extremely disappointing and a severe waist of my time in ripping and watching the DVDs.
Because of the problems I had experienced, I made my first request for a refund. “Support” made no comment about my request for a refund, but once again requested that I rip the DVD to and ISO file and upload the file to them.
I responded by saying that I was truly disappointed that “Support” did not take the time to read my previous emails before requesting that I preform a task that had already been performed twice, and once again requested a refund. “Support” once again ignored my request for a refund, and advised that they had purchased a copy of a particular movie from Amazon, as “NEW encryption technology of this movie cannot be read by our product, we will analyze it carefully to find where the problem is.”
I sent “Support” a third request for a refund. This time I placed the request in a LARGE RED FONT AND IN CAPITALS AND BOLD TEXT and also sent them a screen shot of their 30 day money back guarantee.
It appears that my third request eventfully got their attention, as I have now received my refund. Needless to say it would have been a lot better experience had I not had to request the refund 3 times.
My verdict, if you wish to save your sanity and your time, don’t purchase Win X DVD Ripper Platinum.

Beware! 30 day refund policy isn't honored.
This company offers a 30-day money back guarantee, which is featured all over their site. What they don't tell you is that they have a lot of conditions when you request a refund and they get to decide whether you're worthy of a refund or not. The support cannot seem to understand that I'm not interested in any more troubleshooting and want them to honor their guarantee.
