never buy from WD again. 3yr warranty drives really have less than 1 yr from date of manufacturer.
I purchased drives less than 3 years ago and went to complete an RMA but found the drives warranty expired before i even purchased date. both drives failled within hours of each other and have the same manufacture date so i assume the drives were poorly manufactured. After contacting WD support i was informed the drives were under warranty so again to i go to completed the RMA but the warranty expiry had not been updated. I contact WD once again. After numerous attempts at contacting them and not getting a response from Tom P. I had to escalate the case to get a response and in the end it was nearly 2 weeks sine initial contact that i got a response saying drives are not in warranty and that warranty expired 6 months before i purchase and less than a year after manufacture. This total contradicted what i was told earlier and what there own site says about these drives having a 3 year warranty. I have 20+ western digital drives and they are the only drives i purchase personally or for the company i work for. I will never buy WD again and will make sure the company i work for does not either.
