Ordered a Western Digital portable hard drive (from Amazon) and when I connected up to the PC I discovered that it had been loaded with software for a completely different manufacturer - a Seagate product - they do not even look the same and are competitors! Must be a factory error but a pain for me and it will have to be returned.

Ordered a hard drive on 3rd December 2024. It never arrived so WD refunded 3 months later. Will be switching to segate in future for home and our business requirements.

My order never arrived, tracking showed it was returned to sender. Western Digital apologised and promised a refund, which never arrived, and then they stopped replying to my emails. I did a chargeback with my card issuer today. They used to be a great company. I won’t shop here again.

Warranty sucks --- Drive failed within 30 days Have to pay to return the device Then it could take up to 3 weeks for a replacement. When pushed they did offer a free UPS printed shipping label. This is underhand and shady business practice and something the distance selling regulations in the UK specifically prohibit. Be cautions purchasing if you think you might need th warranty. I'll be purchasing a different brand of disk from now on.

worst service ever. I have purchased multiple hard disks from various companies, and by far wd has the worst services. In the year 2025 where time is very important and everything is fast, the wd is taking a month of time to replace a single ssd(solid state drive). I gave my ssd for replacement on 27th of January and its 17 February and I still haven’t received my ssd, and the customer care is still asking me to have patience and wait for 2-3 business days. On 13th of February they told me that my ssd will be shipped within 24 working hours, and on 17th February they said and I quote “Sir please be patient for 2-3 working days, your case has been accelerated and you will receive your product within 2-3 working days”. They lied to me about shipping my product within 24 hours on 13th of February.

One month and still waiting for my HDD. Not even dispatched. 2 tickets sent. With every ticket they are telling me to wait 2-3 weeks more...just shame for this one great company. If you do not have recertified hdd after a mont you should send a brand new!
