Really annoyed with Walgreens. My boyfriend and I had a vacation planned that required a rapid Covid test the day prior. We went to the drive through for our appointment at Walgreens and their system crashed (which is totally understandable, I know that things happen.) They told us they’d call us back when the system was working. With 4 hours until we had to leave for the airport we were scrambling to look for somewhere to take us for a rapid test and Walgreens shortly called back saying their system was up and to come back. We went and we tested. An hour later our results came back. Mine negative, and his positive. I called the pharmacy, and explained to them that we had to leave for vacation, and I felt the test was inaccurate because he had no symptoms, I was negative, and we quarantined all week to make sure we would be negative for our vacation. The woman on the phone said that it’s REALLY REALLY REALLY RARE to have a false positive. I told her I wanted him to be retested as I felt the test was wrong. She said unfortunately Walgreens cannot retest the same person twice in one day, even though he had no signs or symptoms of Covid. She offered to retest him in the morning which was nice, but didn’t help our situation. We had an at home rapid Covid test at home, which he then took and it was negative. Once I saw that I knew the Walgreens test was wrong. I called a local urgent care and they were able to squeeze him in and that test came back negative. If I didn’t trust my gut instincts, we would have missed out of an almost $2,000 vacation because of Walgreens policy. I understand Covid tests are usually accurate, and this situation is rare, but I want Walgreens to change their policy about not being able to test the same person twice in one day if they aren’t showing Covid symptoms. Certain events require Covid testing, and people can possibly miss out on important life moments from inaccurate testing. I know this is probably rare, but it happened to us.

Not friendly. I asked them not to run prescription through insurance and they did. This ruined my paperwork for this prescription to go under prior authorization. Very upsetting and not trustworthy.

Puerto Rico... 4-5 people in the line for pharmacy,, takes 45 minutes to reach the counter and leave the prescription. Pick up, same situation, but they give you partial amount ( not available the full quantity) so com back do the 50 minuets line the next day for the third times, Absolutely not acceptable, shameful.

Walgreens Pharmacy, Yorkville, IL, Bridge and 34. Miss the old Pharmacy staff. New staff has zero customer service skills. Every time I go in to pick up a prescription, I'll stand there a good 5 minutes, even with nobody else in line. Nobody acknowledges me or tells me they'll be right with me. None of them smile, and they seem bothered to assist anyone at the counter. Several days ago, after waiting 5 minutes, I was told my prescription was delayed. I already had been out of a dose for a couple of days. When I asked the rep what the hold up was, she said I can try calling other Walgreens locations to see if they have anything in stock. Why am I having to chase down my medicine?? Why aren't they making any effort to help out??? Oh, and nobody follows up with me either. I have to constantly keep checking. Now over a week has gone by without my medicine, so I tried calling today. Waited several minutes just for someone to pick up the phone. After I explained my situation, they told me to hold and never picked up again. Now that I'm a week and a half off my medication, I have no other option but to transfer to another pharmacy that cares about my health. It's a shame because I've been a customer at this location for 13 years. Extremely disappointed and disgusted with this level of service, especially with people dependent on them for their medications.

Walgreens Marco Island in store pharmacy service was just horrible, so I switched to Walgreens autofill by mail. As a result, my prescription is now 6 days past due, and I am without medicine and still waiting. I'm done with Walgreens. Save your health and avoid the grief; go somewhere else. Walgreens is a hopeless loser.

For YRS I have had nightmares with my local Walgreens in getting my monthly insulin refilled. Theres always an insurance issue (Medicare pays for it). They blame the dr and Medicare, and it can take up to 2 wks to get it done. My endocrinologist has said it’s Walgreens and that they have everything they need including date of last visit (Medicare requires a visit every 90 days). Medicare has said they dont know why the delay and that I should consider changing pharmacies. Well that problem’s now solved. Dr called yesterday to say they got a call from Walgreens stating they wouldnt fill any Rx for me in future as I was verbally abusive to an employee. This from asking what the hold-up was and saying I’d been dealing with this forever and was sick of it. Not once did I use abusive language nor was I threatening. I’ve called Walgreens corporate offices FOUR times and told them the whole story only to receive the promise that someone from “our management team” will be in touch with you. Nothing! Its especially unconscionable since Walgreens filled a Rx incorrectly several yrs back, giving me tegretol instead of the trentol prescribed by my dr, causing me to fall asleep while driving which could have easily cost me my life. This was treated as no big deal and was never addressed by Walgreens corporate office despite detailed complaints with documented evidence of their incompetence. The lack of concern and blatant incompetence by Walgreens is unparalleled. I stopped using Walgreens at that time and took my business to RiteAid, which subsequently closed leaving only Walgreens in my town. My only regret is that I didnt file suit against them when the prescription was botched. It might have at least gotten their attention and could have created better customer service and possibly have saved lives. Today I took a Rx to Walmart to be transferred from Walgreens. The Walmart pharmacist called me a short time later to say that Walgreens told him they’d closed my files and couldn’t transfer any of my prescriptions, so he was contacting my provider to get a new Rx. Walgreens is the worst!
