The city switched us to a new Meter…
The city switched us to a new Meter with the solar panels. This changes cost during peak times. Our energy output was not based on these metrics. And in the summer we still pay for electricity. Our bill is higher with the new meter.

Hi Sheri, thank you for sharing. We understand how frustrating it can be to see changes on your utility bill, especially after investing in solar. It does sound like your utility company may have updated your rate structure or moved you to a time-of-use meter, which can change how electricity is billed during peak hours. These billing adjustments are made by the utility and can impact how credits and charges appear, even when your system is producing well. After reviewing your monitoring, your system is producing strong energy output and is performing as expected. However, if your household usage patterns or rate plan have changed, that can affect overall bill savings, especially during peak summer hours when rates are sometimes higher. If you'd like, we'd be happy to review your production and answer any questions at [email protected]. - Katie G.
