DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!
If only I can give a negative star, I will. transaction and paying money went smoothly, but after that, their a lack of communication. I used their business to help me with my move, but unfortunately, they sent me to a different movers. It's been more than a month and I can't believe that they're not taking any actions. If you know that you're a broker and sending us to another moving company that doesn't respond to their clients, imagine that, imagine how hard to get a hold of you, imagine how hard to communicate with them.
My kids have been sleeping on the floor with us for more than a month now, if you have a conscience you will take action about this matter.

I want to take this opportunity to address some of the issues you've encountered during your moving process. Please understand that when you signed up with us, you were moving 1,800 miles away. Your agent informed you that we typically require a delivery window of 10 to 14 days. It’s important to note that when our moving carrier picks up your belongings, you should indicate that you want delivery as soon as possible, not a first available delivery date. These instructions were clearly outlined in your contract with United American Moving and Storage.
Our goal is to ensure that no one is left without their furniture at home, which is why we provided a precise delivery timeframe and the necessary instructions to prevent this situation. We did everything we could to address your concerns and worked to reduce the additional expenses you incurred. However, I regret that it ultimately took nearly two weeks to deliver your items.
I apologize for any confusion or frustration this caused, and I appreciate your understanding as we navigated this process together. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out.

WORST MOVING COMPANY THERE IS
WORST MOVING COMPANY THERE IS! They lie to deceive the customer!!! They claim to be "Veteran / Family Owned" and did not disclose when asked specifically that they are a moving broker! They give you a ridiculously LOW estimate to bait you in, then will at least double the expense! They will NOT refund your deposit! ABSOLUTE CRIMINALS!

I'd like to clarify what led to the additional charges and your decision to leave a one-star review. When you signed up with us on February 6th, you provided an inventory consisting of 300 cubic feet, including a love seat, 75 small boxes, one gun safe, one coffee table, and two end tables. We agreed to move you from California to Texas, a distance of 1633 miles, for $2786.76.However, when the movers arrived at your residence on March 29th or 1st, there were additional items not included in the initial inventory, which resulted in an increase in the price. At that point, you informed the movers that you preferred not to proceed with the revised estimate and opted to move yourself by renting a U-Haul, believing it would be cheaper. Please understand that as a moving brokerage company, we work with a network of carriers since no single company has trucks in every city/state of America. We collaborate with only five carriers in total, and they consistently perform well.Typically, as long as we receive an accurate inventory, including all large items and items not going into boxes, customers rarely face additional charges, let alone significant ones. However, in this case, the movers discovered additional items not previously disclosed, leading to the need for additional resources and expenses. Despite your decision not to proceed with the move, our Moving Carrier incurred costs for hotel accommodations and daily wages for the movers who were prepared to assist you.The issue with this move arose primarily due to the lack of an accurate inventory, both when you initially signed up and during subsequent discussions with our dispatch supervisor. Additionally, you paid an additional $400 for items that were inadvertently omitted from the initial inventory. As evidenced by this pattern of adding more items, even shortly before the move, it's clear that the accuracy of the inventory directly impacts the overall cost of the move. We aim to provide transparent and reliable services, and we regret any inconvenience caused by the misunderstanding regarding the inventory.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE BROKERS
DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE BROKERS! I was promised by James (689) 444 5799 that my furniture and boxes would be delivered between 5-7 days. Now the movers are telling us they haven’t even shipped it! It’s been 8 days. WHERE IS MY STUFF?! This is absolutely ridiculous. My daughter has no crib, I have no furniture, no cookware, nothing but the minimal items I brought with me for my family for the first week. This is absolutely horrific.

Despite facing challenges due to my…
Despite facing challenges due to my legal blindness, I decided to work with United American Moving and Storage. They went out of their way to support me throughout the process. They scheduled meetings at times that worked for both me and my interpreter, ensuring clear communication. Additionally, they arranged a video call with Anna to address any concerns I had. During our phone conversations, they patiently spent over an hour with me, ensuring that all aspects were covered while my interpreter assisted. Unlike other companies, United American didn't rush to give me a quick price; instead, they provided a detailed contract and carefully reviewed it with me. Their professionalism and attention to detail demonstrate their commitment to excellence. It's clear that they prioritize setting up the move flawlessly to ensure a smooth experience for everyone involved.

Regrettably
Regrettably, I must express my profound dissatisfaction with United American Moving and Storage, accessible at unitedamericanmovingandstorage.com/, US DOT: 3467807 MC: 1134095, and reachable at (888)-860-3874. Despite my extensive experience as a professional mover due to frequent work relocations, my recent encounter with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare.
Despite their invoices proclaiming "We Care For You," the stark disparity between their written commitment and the content of their emails is evident. Their listed address at 700 NW 57th Place, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33309, appears elusive when attempting to verify the information. Currently, I am in the process of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and seeking compensation for damages and lost items.
My move, initiated on 11/6/23, culminated in my items arriving at the new state on 12/4/23, a delay of almost 30 days. Shockingly, I was not informed that my belongings would be stored in Florida for this extended period until the movers were on site. Moreover, the initially agreed-upon pricing, declared as "FINAL and FIRM" in writing, escalated multiple times. Upon the movers' arrival, they demanded an additional $5000, threatening to leave half of my possessions behind if I did not comply.
I possess documented emails confirming the promises made, detailing the convoluted journey my items undertook—from Alabama to Florida, then California. The lack of foresight on their part led to an unnecessary transfer of my belongings to another truck in California, as the original truck could not fit into the delivery area. Astonishingly, when I requested a picture of the truck, they provided a generic image from the internet.
The ordeal continued with missing and damaged items, and I was charged again upon their arrival in California. I am willing to provide further details, along with pictures and evidence, to anyone interested. Currently, I have initiated a formal complaint for the damages and lost items, and I intend to keep everyone informed about the resolution. I sincerely hope that someone within the company will uphold integrity and rectify the situation appropriately

Worst moving experience!
Do not use this company. There is no customer service and they do not handle everything from start to finish but the sales pitch says they do. United American Moving and Storage are dispatchers only – the address on the website is an office share space where the owner gets his mail. They do not work on weekends so do not move then as it will take hours to get a return call. l receive an automated text that they will return call but it took hours for the dispatcher to call back and the load was in process. They quoted the load at less than 300 sq ft. The final inventory was sent per their deadline and the estimate was returned with no cost change. Once they turned my move over to an outfit from NJ, everything changed. I walked through the inventory list with the two men that arrived, and we agreed it matched. The movers did not bring tools, did not have floor covering or shoe covering. They are just loaders and not professionally trained at all. Once they got the items on the truck, they said the load was 600 sq ft and the price doubled. It is a bait and switch between United American Moving and Storage and whatever group they hire. ASAP Moving from NJ was the hired crew. Nothing transparent about it. I was supposed to get a partial refund as the inventory list and space required did not double. I took pictures of the other load on the truck that was on top of our items. Two weeks later, the story changed. The extra charges included an overnight delivery ($750 fee) and additional gas fees. I never booked an overnight delivery nor was that scheduled so they charged me for something I did not ask for. The salesman that booked us said a truck was coming to the area to do a drop in Huntsville and then would pick up the load on way back to Florida. The move had flexible dates and the driver changed the pick-up date from Friday to Saturday, which wasn't an issue as they require you provide more than one date. Supposedly this trip and the "great" price I received was because we were flexible on the AL/FL run. The men that showed up for the unload demanded additional fees via Zelle to a random person, not the moving company. If we did not comply, they would leave and take the load. This was not a last minute move as I had talked to the sales person over several weeks. His texts said the timing would work for them so they could keep the quote low. It doubled at the end! Moving nightmares are because of bad agents like this. I have pictures, videos, emails, texts and the owner nor dispatcher has called me back. They will reply to this review and will spend time negating everything but will not spend 5 minutes and return a call.

✅✅✅✅✅ Hello, I'd like to provide insight into the details of your completed move. In Alabama, our foreman, Mr. Keith, from our Alabama carrier, ensured a successful relocation. Contrary to claims that you couldn't reach us, you spoke with Daniel, your agent, on the day the movers arrived. You and Daniel communicated directly with the foreman, and you shared pictures of concerns, particularly about the cleanliness of the blankets and incurred additional charges on moving day.
During the same conversation, we committed to providing the paperwork, including the bill of lading, for you to compare with your inventory. The move took place on January 6, 2024, a weekend with limited dispatchers, yet you remained in touch with Roxy and Daniel. Initially, your inventory listed 11 items/23 pieces, later updated to 17 items/28 pieces. However, upon the movers' arrival, additional items not on the inventory and inaccurate measurements impacted the available space in the moving truck.
For the 531-mile move to Florida, we estimated a 5-7 day delivery timeframe. However, on the moving day, you requested straight delivery for $750, an option not initially discussed with your agent. Contrary to claims of doubling costs, the $750 charge for straight delivery and an additional $5 per cubic foot for 300 ft.³ did not reach the initially quoted $1500.
Although we recognize the inventory discrepancy, your overall move cost $1673. We intended to provide a partial refund, but upon measuring the moving truck, your belongings occupied 600 ft.³. We understand your frustration, and we are committed to reviewing the paperwork and discussing additional charges and inventory discrepancies to find a resolution. We hope to address your concerns and potentially reword this review.

I was scammed by this company
Update 2: My story has been consistent since I posted “Am I being Scammed?” On my tiktok - STRANGERS have agreed I was scammed since that day.
Unbelievable that this company accuses me of doing exactly what it is openly doing to me. I have no fear of litigation with them.
To get my money back via a lawyer, retainer is more than $564. The BBB is not a court, just mediation - they already gave this company a C.
I’ve stopped responding to the company, and am only intending to alert others of the truth of my continued experience.
The Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA) protects people’s ability to share their honest opinions about a business’s products, services, or conduct, in any forum, including social media.
I have been financially and emotionally impacted by this scam, they couldn’t fulfill the written contract THEY wrote, and blame me for being “unprepared” to detract.
I did nothing to deserve them keeping the money they got from me, in good faith of a service being performed,
I have never experienced anything close to this with any other company in my life.
I am intent on sharing my story: I LOST $564 by trusting a company that is STILL doing this to other people, and it is mind boggling that they are STILL not being investigated.
Update: The abuse continues even in response to this review. I was never offered $400, and my deposit was $564. I’ve asked for every dime and have been refused, and have been abused by this company in how they speak to me, and with them misrepresenting my experience regardless of the PUBLIC receipts.
They are threatening litigation against ME for making too much noise about them scamming me - as they have scammed others even in this new year!
Should you need PROOF of my experience, I’ve published our text messages and emails in real time: You can decide for yourself whether YOU would want to endure this.
—
I was scammed by this company: I’ve submitted a BBB complaint to no avail & unfortunately moving scams are very hard to get money back from. This company is VERY predatory and there are countless people like me scattered throughout the internet who have given them hundred of dollars to them only to be frustrated and astounded by this company’s tactics.
I lost $564 as of Black Friday 2023, when they came into my home and let me know I could give them thousands more than what they quoted. I was so outraged - but I payed them via Zelle - and that was the move that gave them power.
As of today, they’ve only offered a partial refund and ONLY if I remove my reviews. Of course I believe I am entitled to a full refund. I’ve gotten nothing, though, at this point so I have nothing to lose by taking the long route to get SOMETHING back from the HUGE financial burden this scam has on me.
As I mentioned, I’ve filed a BBB complaint - for two months we went back and forth only for the BBB to say they couldn’t do anything: regardless of the fact this company has violated the Consumer Review Fairness Act with putting that stipulation on my refund.
Ultimately this company continues to say I am at fault for their mistake: They point at everything except the scam.
Lots of things are up for interpretation, but the texts messages and emails that I have provided online, and in my BBB complaint, all show EGREGIOUS predatory practices. I’ve left public reviews and they have only repeated their accusations regardless of the facts, reason, customer service -
I believe, based on how I have been handled, that they choose who to victimize! I’m a single mom and Black woman who is VERY successful for my age: I was so excited to work with a small family company instead of UHaul, but from the moment the movers arrived, I knew they wanted to take advantage of me - I couldn’t believe they were actually saying the prices they were saying after everything we discussed before I Zelled them $564. & I still ended up organizing and executing my move for a fraction of that cost they tried to force on me on TOP of this financial loss.
I am FURIOUS but I am thankful that I had the funds saved to not be trapped where I was trying to move from and homeless with my child for the holidays.
The fact is, They will get you to send them a deposit - They will make your budget “work for them” then when they show up, they’ll say “it’ll be more by $$$$”. If you don’t pay, you don’t get any of your money back. & Unless you go through litigation, you won’t get it back. They don’t care if you scream and shout about them scamming you - they are shameless.
My experience has been terrible, and I’ve documented every part. I will continue to tell my story: Moves are already so complicated, companies like this should NOT exist.
Do your research before you send them even ONE dollar. I beg you to watch and read all the reviews of people who have dealt with this company - They are out there! Consider that YOU can become their next victim.
Response from dispatch moverJan 30, 2024
✅✅✅✅✅ I'd like to address the situation regarding your move. We've responded to your negative review on Google and even sent a cease and desist letter through our lawyer due to your efforts to solicit negative reviews on social media. This is considered harassment, and we may involve legal authorities. You booked your move on November 21, and as per the contract, you were responsible for packing your boxes. On Thanksgiving/Black Friday, a holiday, you contacted us, but we were closed for the week after Thursday. We had recordings of your calls with the agent and our Dispatch. The movers and the truck were on schedule on November 25, as promised. However, a few hours before the move, you informed us of your illness, and none of your belongings were packed. You requested the movers to bring and pack boxes, leading to additional costs. Your residence was in disarray, with littered tissue, a messy sofa, full trash, and scattered paperwork. Contrary to your claim, the house wasn't packed at all. You initially stated nine items and 32 pieces, but upon arrival, the movers found discrepancies and items you didn't disclose:
- Queen-size bed with a boxspring, headboard, footboard
- Dresser
- Futon
- Washer
- Dryer
- 50 boxes (not the estimated 25)
- Desk
- Area rug
Your inaccurate inventory and the unexpected need for additional packing materials caused the additional charges. We requested an accurate inventory for non-boxed items and an estimated box count, which you provided as 25. The significant difference between the estimate and the actual inventory, along with the unexpected packing requirements, led to increased costs. We acknowledge your dissatisfaction, but it's essential to note that we fulfilled our commitment by sending movers. We charged for the additional services and materials necessitated by the unanticipated situation. We encourage open communication to address concerns, but unfounded claims of being a scam company are unwarranted.
Furthermore, even though our moving services were commenced, and even though the moves did not successfully load or complete this job because of the additional items and because of the additional packing materials you requested the day of your move. Your deposit was $563.20 we offered to give you a partial refund of $400. You denied the $400 partial refund and stated “I will only accept $563.20 and nothing less.” So I would like it to be known that we did still make an attempt to offer you a partial refund.
I want to highlight that this marks your fourth negative review, each time with escalating exaggerations. We're pursuing legal action due to your pattern of enlisting strangers and family to post unwarranted negative reviews. Despite your efforts, the Better Business Bureau dismissed your case, acknowledging our compliance. We even attempted to refund $400, contingent on your friends and family removing the false reviews. Your evolving review, posted a few days ago, reflects significant edits. When our moving company faced challenges due to your unprepared house, your negligence painted us unfairly as the "bad guys."
