We have had a really bad experience with this car hire company united-rent-a-car. We are still waiting for our holding deposit to be returned despite them telling us it will be returned within 21 working days. They also demanded us to take out full cover although we already taken a full insurance cover at the time we initially booked the car. They insisted that the cover we taken out was a scam and we must pay again and take a cover with them which cost three times more. We are really disappointed with the customer service and will highly NOT recommend this company as it’s a hard work from start to finish. We have now put a complaint out to our bank which is stepping in to solve this issue. This is a honest review and I’m trying to make people aware. Thank you

Very disappointing experience with United Rent a Car. I paid a deposit of €760.26 on August 3, 2026. I was told the deposit would be refunded within approximately 20–23 days, but I am still waiting. Communication has been poor and I have not received a clear explanation or a proper solution. A deposit of this amount should not simply remain unpaid without clear updates. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. Be very careful with the deposit conditions and make sure you have everything confirmed in writing before renting a car here. Er werd aangegeven dat deze binnen ongeveer 20–23 dagen zou worden terugbetaald, maar ik wacht nog steeds op mijn geld. De communicatie is slecht en ik krijg geen duidelijke uitleg of concrete oplossing. Bij een borg van dit bedrag mag je verwachten dat een bedrijf duidelijk communiceert en zich aan de gemaakte afspraken houdt. Op basis van mijn ervaring zou ik dit bedrijf niet aanbevelen. Let goed op de voorwaarden rondom de borg en zorg ervoor dat je alles vooraf schriftelijk bevestigd krijgt. United Rent a Car ile yaşadığım deneyim son derece hayal kırıklığı yarattı. 3 Ağustos 2026 tarihinde 760,26 € depozito ödedim. Bu tutarın yaklaşık 20–23 gün içerisinde iade edileceği söylendi, ancak hâlâ paramın iade edilmesini bekliyorum. İletişimleri yetersiz ve bana net bir açıklama veya somut bir çözüm sunulmadı. Bu kadar yüksek bir depozito söz konusu olduğunda, firmanın müşteriyi açık şekilde bilgilendirmesi ve verdiği sözü yerine getirmesi gerekir. Kendi deneyimime dayanarak bu firmayı tavsiye etmiyorum. Araç kiralamadan önce özellikle depozito şartlarını çok dikkatli kontrol edin ve tüm sözlerin yazılı olarak verilmesini isteyin.

"United" is a local office of carjet.com. I had booked a car at carjet.com for 5 days. I also paid for full insurance/coverage when I booked online at cotjet.com. Their local office in Antalya in Turkey overcharged me extra 125 Euro for a full insurance, for which I already had paid for online. Furthermore the local office required authorization for blocking 1000€ as deposit, which would be released afterwards. The local office clearly stated that this amount would NOT be withdrawn and ONLY be blocked, but actually 1004 Euro was withdrawn from my bank account immediately at pick-up. I realized the withdrawal the day after pick-up and have contacted them several times afterwards and was told once that the withdrawal is apparently a mistake and will be investigated. I have required a refund for overcharged insurance and the illegaly withdrawn deposit, but they don't answer at all ! Avoid them.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS- they will take your deposit and withhold it from you and then completely ghost you. Our experience with United Car Rental in Antalya has been absolutely unacceptable from start to finish. We booked the car through Booking.com, and the problems became particularly serious when it came time to return the vehicle. We repeatedly tried to contact the company and could not get anyone to answer. The most unacceptable and distressing part of this experience has been what happened afterwards. Our deposit has STILL not been returned. Nearly 2 months later. We have contacted the company repeatedly, sent follow-up messages and emails, and given them numerous opportunities to simply return the money owed to us. Instead, we have been left continuously chasing them for our own money. We have even asked that, if they claim the refund has already been processed, they’re bullshitting because it hasn’t. They’ve been withholding it from us for almost 2 months. We still have not received a satisfactory resolution or our money back. At this point, we have had no choice but to raise the matter with our bank and pursue a formal dispute regarding the outstanding deposit. We have retained our booking information, payment evidence and correspondence showing our repeated attempts to resolve the issue directly. What makes this particularly frustrating is how easily this could have been avoided. Returning a customer’s deposit after the rental has been completed should not require weeks of emails, messages and repeated chasing. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering renting from this company to be extremely cautious, particularly regarding the deposit and after-rental customer service. If the company resolves this and returns our deposit, I will update this review accordingly. Until then, our deposit remains outstanding despite weeks of trying to get this resolved.
