I’m a Perks member with Uncommon Goods, which means that I get free shipping on every purchase. However, I’m in my 70’s and I couldn’t figure out how to put in my membership information for an online order in order to get the free shipping. I called customer service and the gal that I spoke with was so kind and patient. She explained exactly which icon to push in order to enter my membership info. In the meantime she placed the order for me. Next time I’m positive that I’ll be able to do it by myself! If not, I’ll just call customer service again and chat with one of their pleasant customer service representatives! No worries!

I ordered monogrammed ornaments. They said I would have the proofs in 1-2 business days. It took over a week to get the proofs. The proofs looked good, but I haven't seen the final product yet to give an opinion on them. I had chatted with Uncommon Goods and they were very kind in telling me there was a backlog on getting the proofs out.

This company is not worth considering. I've worked in customer service for a long time, and not being hired by this low-budget company feels like an insult. I’m confident they hire individuals with fewer skills and experience than I have. After prequalifying, I was given basic questions to answer and was later informed that I didn’t get the customer service position. These companies often present themselves as if they are exceptional and require applicants to have a doctoral degree just to qualify. I won't be applying for this job again; I’m certain that there are better companies that offer higher pay and don’t have such a ridiculous hiring process for basic customer service roles. P.S. They responded and claimed they hire the most qualified candidates. Doesn’t everyone who applies for these jobs already possess those skills? I’m pretty sure the person who hired you years ago didn’t consider you more qualified than others at that time. Answering phones and placing orders isn’t particularly difficult. Additionally, the pay isn’t double the minimum wage in NYC; it’s only $6 more. You might be referring to New York State, but the claim about hiring the most qualified is laughable! That’s fine; I will take my associate degree to a company that truly deserves it and offers better compensation. NYC is overrated and stressful; I’ll pass on the seasonal job that pays $21 an hour.

The customer service representative was personable, polite and knowledgeable about what I needed and resolved my challenge quickly and courteously. I would recommend anyone to shop with Uncommon Goods...they have great products and great employees.

As a lifetime catalog shopper, the Uncommon Goods catalog is dog-eared and page turned and marked for all kinds of gifts! As I started placing birthday and Christmas gift order - I realized that the Uncommon Perks membership made sense. However, I was unable to figure out how to purchase a gift (mailed to a friend) AND the membership. I chatted online and was able to confirm purchase of both items but that the membership info came to me only and not my friend. Quick! Easy! Efficient!!!

I had a great experience. I recommend anyone to go with this company.
