I tried Unagi's All-Access Rental subscription, and I now regret it. The scooter is mediocre as it is too low power to go up even slight hills (dropping down to 3mph...walking would be faster!) Also, the sign up for subscription makes it seem like it would be easy to cancel, but the cancellation and return process are extremely cumbersome. Also, if you didn't keep the original outer package box they charge you $30 to return (which isn't advised anywhere in the sign up process.)

I heard such great things about their scooters but I had the absolute worst shopping experience with them and I'm left seething with frustration. I usually don't leave bad reviews unless I feel I have to. I placed an order to rent a scooter for $54. All went well, they do identity verifications through Stripe as part of their risk assessment. No problem at all. Scanned my ID and went through the process. I thought to myself "Great!.. I'm all set". Several days later, I get an email saying that my order was blocked because their risk assessment software couldn't verify me as a customer. So right off the bat I was frustrated but gave them the benefit of the doubt and reached out to their customer support. I placed another order, and provided a copy of my ID to their customer support team and I had mentioned what happened. I went above and beyond to be communicative and get myself verified through manual review. Almost two weeks later, their customer support team finally responded to me to tell me that my second order was cancelled and voided. They didn't even bother to manually review my ID or any details I sent them. I understand the need to mitigate risk, especially with rentals of rather expensive goods, but I feel I was treated like a borderline criminal and I never had this experience shopping anywhere else online.

So I purchased the monthly subscription for the Unagi scooters for me and my employees under a monthly subscription fee of over $400 and one of them was on there way and don’t get me wrong these scooters look awesome any how the day my scooter was supposed to arrive to my location the order gets canceled and I get an email saying “the item was damaged in transit” but how do they know? So they reroute the scooter back to there headquarters and I keep emailing them to see what’s going on and no reply for 3/4 days so I email the owner because i got tired of waiting and he replies very fast and I’m like ok cool finally I got someone. So he ask for my phone number and he calls me and starts cursing me out from the start stating I was a “fraud” that I stole scooters and keep in mind I’ve never in my life have ever heard about this company other then through my friend and he starts telling me that he knows everything about me and that the cops are coming to my house and I’m ok great because I want to see what happen too so he calls me back again and I’m thinking it’s to apologize and no it’s to tell me off again and he doesn’t even give me an opportunity to speak or say anything instead he’s just accusing me of things that I never even knew I did. So yeah I’m going to be disputing these charges with my and and don’t sign up! VERY BAD COMPANY!

I'm very happy and impressed with my Unagi E450 scooter. I was happy to pay extra than most other scooters as I live on a very, very steep hill, so I required one with stronger power. The scooter glides up the hill easily at a steady 9-11 mph , which is only a bit less than its optimum of 16 mph on flat roads. Simple and easy to set up. Also its a sleek and fancy design. It folds easily and unlike most other e-scooters that I have seen it folds straight as opposed to those that have that slight triangular peak from the slanting bar in the structure.

I've been riding the E450 for three months and covered 350kms. I weigh 85kgs. It's already making a loud grating sound from both wheels so has been booked in to be repaired. If you weigh more than 50kgs this scooter is not for you. I've only ever had it set in mode 3 on two wheel drive set in any other mode and it's not worth riding. On any incline no matter how steady you'll be pushing it as much as riding it as the motors torque fades rapidly. The range is stated at 25kms but I'm lucky to get 8kms. Also, once the battery drops below 50% the motors have very little torque. The electric brake is fine unless you need to stop for a hazzard. If anything pops out in front of you you'll hit it, no question. If the surface is bumpy when you apply the brake, the hand position is such that you can't hold on properly and the bars are shaken from your hands and you're off. There is a foot brake however that offers no stopping power at all. Also the foot brake/mudguard rattles on bumpy surfaces. You'll also feel every tiny bump too as the tubeless tyres don't really soak up anything. The stem has a good 3cm of play in it so if you pull on the handlebars to lift it over low curbs it feels very unsteady. The Unagi E450 is a perfect example of form over function. It looks beautiful but at £800 you're better buying a Xiaomi Pro. I had one of those before and all in all it was a better scooter except for the looks.
