Good Products, Shady Retail People Who Take Advantage
I like going in this store in my town of Spartanburg, South Carolina, but I feel a bit mixed about the customer service at this store. Sometimes, the retail people are helpful and offer genuine advice. Then, there are times when the retail/ customer service people are less than honest. For instance, I went to my local store about a month ago, in search of a lip sleeping mask called Mamonde. I’d researched the mask ahead of time, and I read plenty of reviews to decide that this was the product I wanted. When I got to the store, the girls on the floor pushed me into buying “the last” jar of this product they had. The packaging was ripped, and it was clear someone had opened it. The sales girls made a show of going into the back to see if there were any more jars of this product left. They returned, and told me there weren’t any jars of this product left, and said they didn’t expect to get a new order any time soon. Since the jar looked relatively in tact, I bought their last remaining jar of this product—even though the packaging had been tampered with. A week later, I checked back, and low and behold there was a new jar available, and the packaging was in tact, and unbroken. I felt stupid, and like these sales women had manipulated me and dumped a tampered-with product on me because they saw me as an easy mark. This was stupid on my part. I really should have checked an online source, but I wanted to try the product before I ordered it online. The product turned out to be good, so my complaint is about the customer service people, who were pushy and false. From now on, I will buy this product online to be sure it hasn’t been opened already, or tampered with.
