I have been buying make up from Ulta for a very long time, I always order the same shade of foundation. They recently sent me the wrong shade, and when I called to complain they basically told me that they wouldn’t be helping me and there was nothing they could do. So I basically wasted $50 and had horrible customer service. They wouldn’t even exchange it for me, they told me just to go into the store and do it there. I then expressed that the store didn’t carry it and I didn’t have any other choice, And then they just hung up on me. I will never be buying from the company again.

I purchased a nearly $600 Dyson Airwrap styler from Ulta - a decision which I vehemently regret. The closest my shipment made it to me was a nearby Lasership (a terrible last mile delivery company) warehouse, and within a day of being in their possession was “lost” by the on-site staff. Despite multiple phone calls and emails to both Ulta and Lasership over the course of the last week, absolutely NOBODY has rolled up their sleeves to actually assist me and confirm what happened to my package or help me find a resolution. I have filed a claim with Lasership (no assistance), called the on-site location (they confirmed twice they have no idea what happened to it), and despite this they have failed to update the tracking information that communicates to Ulta what happened to my order. And on Ulta’s side, three separate people have sent back only canned and unhelpful corporate responses whenever I have emailed or called for help… replying with utterly useless and disingenuous responses that were some mix of “oh wow, that’s frustrating! Sorry to hear your experience was “less than excellent”. But rest assured you matter! Someone will look into this and get back to you sometime.” At this point I’m absolutely livid at both companies for their lack of assistance. I would have been upset if this is how they treated any order of mine… but for a $600 purchase?! Your customers deserve better than this! Not to mention all the horror stories I’ve read about Lasership incorrectly marking packages as “delivered to customer” when they aren’t. Right now I’m guessing the best case scenario for me is that eventually somebody gives me an answer and returns my money for the expensive purchase that I never received… and worst case scenario is that Lasership pulls a Lasership and lies about my order being delivered - in which case Ulta listens to their BS and the customer gets screwed. Oh, and to rub salt in it - I was just targeted for an Ulta ad… saying “give yourself the gift of luxe and buy a Dyson Airwrap this holiday season!”. I don’t know about you, but I’m giving Ulta the gift of my middle finger this holiday season - and cashing in my points and never looking back.

One usually needs to go to an energy conglomerate to get responses as cold and impersonal as this company provides. Actually, try cold and impersonal mashed-up with outsourced "customer service" reps who have a poor command of English and literally have problems putting together a 5-word sentence. I've been a customer for over 15 years. Well, past tense, I WAS a customer. The cherry on the bleep sandwich is that they absolutely, unequivocally refuse to lift a finger to help or keep a customer, when all they had to do was to refund me $8 for something I paid for but they didn't send. There's lots of competition out there, Ulta. I will be utilizing other services and so will all the other customers whose concerns you shrug off because you apparently think you're special and above reproach.

I recently moved so this review begins with a small mistake on my part. I used to live in CA and I moved to FL. My shipping address was still saved in my Ulta account as California. I noticed this immediately after checkout and attempted to cancel the order. There is no cancel button. I emailed in and spoke to 3 separate Customer Service Representatives all saying that they can't do anything to change my address or cancel my order. The package ships after a day or two. I contact UPS asking if I can change the shipping address. The Customer Service Representative at UPS says that I have to contact Ulta to get my shipping address changed. I call Ulta and am finally connected with someone who can do SOMETHING about my order. He says he'll try to reroute my package. I say that my package can't go to California because that's thousands of miles from where I live now. He says if he can't reroute the package he'll cancel my order. So now apparently my order can be canceled. My order is canceled and returned to sender. I wait a few days and my refund still hasn't come through so I contact customer service AGAIN and am put into contact with someone new over the phone. She tells me my order is being returned to sender so I need to wait 30 DAYS. AN ENTIRE MONTH for my refund to go through because the warehouse can't process the refund till they receive the product back. I don't have the product. UPS has the product. Ulta has my money. I'm stuck in limbo waiting for a refund to process that takes a full month. This company is a mess. They literally should not exist if this is how they treat customers who are screwed over by their lack of organization. I will NEVER shop from Ulta again and you shouldn't either for fear of being screwed over as badly as I have been.

Went to ulta because I needed a new undereye concealer and figured while I was there, I would see if they had a good quality spf facial moisturizer for my 7 year old daughter who gets really dry skin during the winter (she has been using mine, but felt there must be a more affordable kids version). When I explained this to the sales lady she said yes confidently and lead me to the clinique section or a kid! Not only that but the product she was trying to sell me had no spf. When I pointed this out she goes "spf is really only for anti-aging, is there a reason you want it for your daughter. Horror! What?! Ulta needs to educate their staff that spf is a vital form of skin care for all ages and should be worn year round to protect from skin damage. (Check out skin care foundation and other foundations if you don't believe me).

I used to shop Ulta exclusively for beauty products. Especially liked the 20% off coupons when they included prestige brands & fragrance. That was when I bought Amazing Grace by Philosophy shower gel, lotion & eau de parfum. Well, no more! Just got an email that said the 20% off included prestige & fragrance yet when I went to order the parfum, coupon would not work. Called Customer service and they said Amazing Grace no longer qualifies for the coupon even though it says it includes prestige brands & fragrance! Found the AG parfum at Overstock for less so bye bye Ulta. Too bad you won't honor your own coupons anymore!

I shop a lot at Ulta and have on a handful of occasions needed customer service. I will say the offers and discounts are great, there customer service is nonexistent. As a loyal customer this is very disturbing and thinking about Sephora again.

I will never shop here online again. They have no customer service at all. When my order was shipped to an address that I did not request, I basically lost the value of a $65.00 gift card and someone else received the goods . I hope whoever received my package of goodies enjoyed them. The worst part was the response I received from their customer service. The whole thing has made me sick, saddened, and heartbroken as a loyal customer.
