I broke the screen on my iPad 6. After checking out repairers I decided on uBreakifix Sydney. Sergio was polite, helpful and returned the iPad as good as new. I have no problem recommending them to any one needing repairs.

Advanced Notice for what?
I was excited to learn of a store front in the Rochester, NY area that was able to fix my iPhone 8. I'm not one to update every time Apple releases a new model. I was also happy to see that I was able to make an appointment on-line where I was able to tell the store what needed to be fixed.
Then it turned into the usual bad customer service story. The tech working at the Victor, NY store looked like he just woke up in his clothes, and even with my appointment still asked me why I was there today. What good was telling the web site what I needed fixed and when there was no other customers there at 10:00am.
Here's the best part, the tech told be I could go up there street (probably to the Best Buy) and purchase a magnetic charger. I requested that I wanted the port fixed any way, he went into the back room, only to say he didn't have the parts and that I should call or go to the store in Pittsford, NY.
Obviously my time and effort to set up a great customer experience meant nothing to that tech or the management. Why would I want to continue when I have provided you with all the information you needed? You had the time I was coming in (6 days notice), what part I would need, and that I didn't need the phone for several hours. Customer Service NOT!

Ok Boomer seems to be their business practice.
This comes from a 23yr old tech enthusiast:
HP pushed a bad update and nearly bricked my computer, multiple calls and 10 days later it still isn't fixed and they don't seem to be able to fix something more complex than a broken screen or drive replacement. It's stuck in a bios recovery boot loop and they basically just looked and went "well it didn't fix itself, don't know what to do. Better replace the drive" I'm honestly contemplating if I am more qualified to fix this than they are. 0/5 stars. Radio silence, misleading info, and ineptitude. The BIOS is stored on a flash chip on the motherboard called EEPROM, when it gets corrupted, it looks to the boot drive for an image to use. If that image is incorrect, it will not work. The recovery media from HP that is included with the laptop dropped off has the image. Windows+B forces the computer to look for other media that may have a BIOS image. Well this laptop is still trying to find the image on the boot drive instead of the USB recovery media. When it didn't automagically fix itself, they basically gave up.
They are a bag of flaming dog poop to HP's EXCELLENT customer service.

Terrible employees
Terrible employees. Walk into store, no one in front of store. After 5 minutes man walks to front and tells you to leave your phone with him for the entire day. I ask can I make appointment and return when it is my turn as I need my phone during day. He says no, he has to put my phone into his "Q", and that requires him to be in possession of my phone the entire day. Terrible. Go to Joe's battery. Make appointment, show up at your appointment and one hour later your phone is ready to go. Do not go the ubreakifix, terrible. Roger

This place seems questionable.
I accidentally reviewed the wrong ubreakifix.
The Netherlands seems to be receiving the negative reviews from the United States.
For that I apologize to them.
Here is what I wrote from my experience at the United States location.
First, they have the option to schedule an appointment automatically. Take this with a grain of salt as most companies will not have the required parts on hand.
Next, I have an S21 Ultra and I called to schedule an appointment. A few days later my parts came in and I got in.
Okay, great so far.
I was asked for my device passcode for recalibrate purposes.
I needed my screen replaced.
I removed my passcode and told them that if my business information ended up online I would not be happy.
They told me they do not go through devices.
Okay, whatever.
Two hours later I get the phone back.
The guy says in addition to the screen, I also got a new battery and front camera.
I was like what the? Replaced my battery...
I bought my phone on release day and have been keeping track of the battery quality.
I had a battery that has been cycled hundreds of times and charged for something like 300k+mHa.
Now I reset my battery checking since I received a new battery without my approval.
I performed Samsungs calibration process for a new battery and received a terrible result with this so called new battery.
A new battery for this device is 5000 mHa
And the minimum mHa for a new battery is 4885mHa. My phone was 4750mHa when I turned it in for a screen replacement.
I get my phone back and a week later after my initial tests, my "new" battery is 4566mHa.
So they took my phone, did an unauthorized repair to it, and only told me after the fact what they did.
Two stars is what I rate you because you did replace my screen in the two hours that you claimed.
Minus one star for giving me a crap battery.
Minus one star for not telling me that you were going to do another repair.
Minus one star for not getting my permission to change my battery.
Minus one star for the attitude, I received before the repair.
If they reach out to me to rectify the problem, I will do a follow-up.
Follow up, they never followed up with me after I inquired about them changing my front camera and battery.
I then reached out to Samsung.
Samsung did let me know that what UbreakIfix said was a lie when asked about the work order.

Surprisingly poor experience
This review concerns the U Break I Fixit store in Kenwood in Cincinnati, Ohio.
I have always had good experiences with cell phone repair places--they tend to be staffed by honest, technically skilled people. My experience at this store was not like that, and I will not be returning here.
The short version: 1. my phone was damaged when it was in custody of the store, 2. the fixes the store provided were of poor quality which ultimately led me having to go to *another* store for repair, and 3. the store seemed more interested in getting me subscribed to a service plan than providing high quality technical work.
The long version: I brought my daughter's iPhone in for a battery replacement. Soon after I left the store I received a call from a technician telling me that the screen needed to be repaired before she could replace the battery. I told her the screen was fine when I gave the phone to them. She then accused me of disparaging her before checking to see what the reported condition of the phone was upon submission at the front desk. Ideally she would have checked this information before even calling me. I was eventually told that the screen would be replaced at no cost to me because the phone had been damaged at their store.
After I picked up the phone later that day--seemingly fixed and battery replaced--I gave the phone to my daughter and she almost immediately pointed out a defect on the screen (a permanent black mark on the display). I took the phone back to the store and was told the screen would be replaced again at no charge.
Upon picking up the phone again, everything again seemed fine. The next day my family left for an out of town trip (I had wanted the battery replaced specifically for this trip). While in the car traveling, my daughter pointed out the her screen, which had been fine when we left, was now broken. I couldn't believe it, and thought she must have done something to it. When we reached our destination I took the phone to a repair shop there so that the screen could be replaced again. When I returned to pick it up, the technician at that store said that the screen had not broken because it had been dropped but BECAUSE THE BATTERY HAD BEEN INSTALLED IMPROPERLY. The battery plate had been installed upside down, and there were numerous missing and stripped screws.
And to top everything off, my daughter tells me that her phone is not keeping a charge any better than before I had the battery replaced.
So I have ended up spending over $200 ($120 for the original battery replacement and $90 for the screen replacement) for essentially nothing. This store is a disgrace, and I would advise anyone that there are plenty other honest businesses to take their phones to for these kinds of services.

Liars and scam artists
My Xbox One S stopped reading discs, so I figured I'd take it to this place rather than send it to Microsoft for a $200 repair. Boy, was I wrong. I brought it in to UbreakIfix in New Britain/Farmington, CT. They quoted the repair being done in 3 weeks. It took them 9 WEEKS! After waiting patiently, they said they ordered the wrong part and had to wait for the right one. Another week goes by. They call me saying the repair is finished. I pick up my Xbox, bring it home, and it's in much worse shape than when I brought it in. The new Bluray drive didn't fit correctly, slightly bulging out the front. The disc slot was completely blocked, so they either put the drive in wrong or it was the wrong size altogether. Also, I asked and was told it was tested 3 TIMES before I picked it up. Clearly that was a lie since you literally couldn't put a disc in it AND it didn't work properly. Also, the drive would rev up like a car VERY LOUDLY every time I turned the Xbox on or off. Also, since they messed up the repair, it bricked my Xbox, since it detected a new Bluray drive that was improperly installed. It's now UNUSABLE. Now I can't get it properly repaired from Microsoft since it was opened by these con artists. I went back and the tech/manager said "Maybe I put it in upside-down?" Are you serious? Demanded and got a refund, which was the only good thing out of this debacle. Had to buy a new Xbox which cost me more than any other option. DO NOT BRING YOUR ELECTRONICS HERE! EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Liars and scam artists. I've never been so disappointed with a company in my life.
