Don’t waste your money and time on this product!
After using it for 2 weeks as they suggested not a single mosquito was caught, just few flies and 1 wasp.
The worst part of this experience is that they make you pay for shipping when you want a refund. I had to pay $26 for the shipping.

It works!
We have had the mosquito bait hung in our yard for 2 months now, including 1 refill. (Make sure you don't fill above the little windows so it doesn't spill out the sides.) My kids usually cannot hang out in the backyard without bug spray, and for the past 2 months, we haven't had to use the bug spray! Where we usually have a ton of bug bites by this time of year, we are down to less than 5 bites total for our large family. I have a friend who cannot enjoy her backyard without dousing herself in bug spray while wearing long sleeves and pants, and yet still gets bit by mosquitoes.
So I brought two Tougher Than Tom hanging canisters to her house, and I told her to wait 2 days.
Yesterday she texted me that her whole family + grand kids spent the day in her backyard, no bug spray on anyone, and only 1 person got a bug bite. Only 1! Win!

waste of time - kills everything but mosquitoes.
Twice our landlord gifted us a box of 4 of these alleged mosquito killers. After 4 days not a single insect landed inside them. I could happily stand by one that had been active for 4 days and end up with about 15 mosquito bites within 2 minutes.
After about 8 days there was a curious collection of flies, fruit flies, moths, flying ants, and pretty much ever type of flying insect you could imagine EXCEPT mosquitoes. I can confidently state the product did not work as described. I've ended up with 4 of these set up in a yard that is about 40' x 40' - much less than the alleged acre (or was it a half acre) that 4 of these were supposed to cover.
I'm not fussed as I didn't pay for them, but certainly wouldn't in the future. For me, they were very ineffective and led to a horrible smell of decaying biomass as the dead insects (though not mosquitos) decayed.

Four to eight days can still be early, as the traps may take up to 14 days to reach full effectiveness. Placement, shade, nearby breeding areas, and local mosquito activity can also make a big difference.

I was really hoping these would work…
I was really hoping these would work but after using them for 2 seasons, I can say that they only seem to catch fruit flies, gnats, and the occasional fly. My traps are filled with squirming larvae of some kind which shouldn’t be the case if it “kills on contact”

my positive experience
There seems to be a mix bag of reviews for this but this is my positive experience... I ordered Toms for the first time last year, It seemed to work great because we had hardly any mosquitos and I live on lake in the woods, so it seem like a pretty good test. I ordered the refills this year and the package arrived with a new 4 pack containers instead of the 12 refill pack I ordered. I got on their website and did an online chat, and they handle the issue quick and effectively and immediately sent the missing 12 refill pack. No need to send the wrong product back. Their customer service for me was great.

It works. We've done everything to try to keep mosquitos off of us and our kids... sprays, patches, lotions, yard sprays. This is the one thing that has really saved our yard from mosquitos. We put them at a distance, but close enough to where the kids play (we have a big play yard front and back). No mosquitos! And they are out, we see all the dead mosquitos inside the jars!! It really does work! Thank you!
