i have had home and auto insurance with… treated terrible
i have had home and auto insurance with aarp the hartford for the past 23 years. never have i mussed a payment. today i receive a letter saying they would not continue to insure my home because the paint is pealing and the roof which is 19 years old needs replacing. it also says that the 200 year old barn has bear wood showing. i have kept up my house and barn as good as posible the past 23 years. even if i could afford a new roof now you can't fin anyone to do it. i don't understand how a co. can treat someone this way who was loyal to them for so long i do not recamend them at all.

Had surgery.
Had surgery.. had insurance.. had worst agent ever helping! Was denied! This insurance company was NOT worth the money! Not only did the agent NOT help but my claim was denied & he couldn't tell me why. Then to top it all off I lost my job! If I could give 0 stars I would! Don't waste your money with Hartford Insurance like I did! All this during a pandemic at that!!

Worst customer service I"ve ever seen
Worst customer service I"ve ever experienced! Can't believe they can operate this way. And they are sponsored by AARP. What an insidious scam to take advantage of seniors! How does tis possibly continue.
I'm out but not done.

Horrible but have no choice
They definitely take their time and wait till the last minute to where you could be fired not having fmla on file. You can only leave messages for case management and never calls back. It's a horrible process. Companies should not be hiring them for their fmla processes

The Hartford is managing my maternity…
The Hartford is managing my maternity leave (they pay my company the insurance for my short term disability, and 2 week paid maternity leave, then I get paid). It is unbelievably awful. First issue: they said 'call us when the baby is born.' My thought is no parent has the time to make a phone call with a newborn. Why don't they just use the information given to them prior and if it change, then I'll call them to let them know of the change. Second, they said I only get 6 weeks FMLA, which is not true. Third, I had to contact my company to complain, and my company had to elevate the issue (HR told me they have had many issues with The Hartford recently). Forth, they are asking for birth document again when I already gave it to them. Fifth, their website still says I need to provide my care provider information when I clearly see it's already in their system. This has been an awful experience. A new mother doesn't have the time or patience to deal with a company like The Harford. I recommend potential customers and current customers look elsewhere for insurance.

HORRIFIC TROUBLE WITH HARTFORD INS COMPANY & THE GIRLS WHO I SPOKE WITH RE THEM CANCELLING MY INSURANCEI had Hartford Home Insurance via…
I had Hartford Home Insurance via Trumbell Ins Co as my Ins company for over 10 yrs now. I called thm in 2019 2 let them kno I had a leak in my basement. They said my Insurance didn't covr that. I talkd to our City Bldg Inspectr. Since the leak was coming from the top of the basement on the front side of the house, I called a company to come dig out the front and tar around the front and they laid some kind of heavy plasctic too. I thought that was the end of it. Months later on a very rainy day, I looked in the closet to see if all was well with that leak, and once again I saw water. I called the Warren City Inspector. He said the leak was coming frm around one of my new windows where the caulking either came off or wasn't put on. One of the pieces of wood in my basement was decayg cuz the leak had been goin on for a long time behind a wall and the wall was behind a door used for the closet. Our City Inspector said I shld get that piece of wood replaced or the rest of the wood could decay. He said, in jest, you don't want your house to sink do you? Then I had a man come out 2 chk the air in my basement & he said I had mold. I had a company come in get rid of everything in the basement, exercise machines/dishes/Xmas trees/supplies we use to wrap gifts at Xmas 4 chldren in foster homes/TV/couch/chairs, etc.Once all that was gone and cleaned thoroughly, I put in a new floor made for basements that looks like wood. The reason I had mold is cuz the people who lived in the house B 4 me laid 3 different carpets on top of one another on the cement basement floor. A builder came and put in a new piece of wood where the decaying wood was and all is well. The guys who put in my windows caulked around the part where the caulk was coming off and my basement has been dry ever since. It was all a huge nightmare but I had no idea it was about to get worse today nearly 2 yrs later. I called to make my Home Insurance payment to Hartford. I hadn't received a bill in the mail like usual & my sister received hers. We got our insurance at the same time so I thought I'd call. When I called they told me that a letter was coming for me in the mail and that they were cancelling my Insurance. OMG! I asked why and they said I didn't do anything from the first time I called them about the basement & the leak. They told me they weren't going to do anything about it so I didn't bother doing anything. After the getting the outside of my house waterproofed & the leak was still there, I decided to call the Insurance Co & ask if they wld pay for some of it at least. They didn't and this was in 2020. They let me pay my House Ins for 2021 & didn't inform me they cancelled my insurance until TODAY! I spoke & then yelled at all three of the people I talked to. They were actually laughing at me on the phone. I told them they had no reason to cancel my Insurance & that my house was fine now because the water was from the hole the window company left in the caulking. When I called the Claim Representative and she said there is nothing you can do about this claim being denied and on your record! Once it's there, it's there! She was insulting to say the least. I told her I was going to put this on the internet and let everyone know exactly how corrupt Hartford really is. She said laughingly to go ahead. Then I screamed at her because she was mocking me at this point. The other girls I spoke to the very same thing. One of the girls, Lisa I talked to said the Hartford position doesn't meet guidelines. She said recent claims info revealed rotted wood and shifting of the foundation and persistent mold. When they took out the 3 carpets the owner before me put down, the mold was gone & has been gone ever since for nearly 2 yrs now. This girl was rude also. I asked if I could speak to a supervisor and she said their is only her, she is who you talk to when there are problems. I screamed at her too. They had no reason to refuse me home insurance. They said I did nothing from the first time I called them to ask if they would pay for part of that problem till the second time I called them to submit a claim for actually when the problem 1st started and I got someone to do the outside of the front of the house because I was told that would stop the leak and had no idea it was a problem with the caulking around the window. Hartford/via Trumbull Insurance Company wasn't involved in any of the fixes I tried that didn't work until the last fix which was the window caulking. My house has no leaks & they never called to find out if anything was done, and they really had no business since they washed their hands of any of it. They have ABSOLUTELY no reason for not keeping me as a customer and have actually hurt my health now. I'd like to know if anyone out there has sued this company and how you go about it. This is not a game. I paid approximately $10,000.00 for all the fixes I had completed to get this house fixed. It was as simple as caulking not being completed!

I truly cannot believe this company is…
I truly cannot believe this company is still in business the horror stories I have heard from my co-workers are terrible. Every rep sounds un-trained and do not know what to look for in a claim the claims take a decade to payout. There has to be a better business way to be in business and this company needs the info for it!!!

Snell pace or not at all
This company is horrible. They lack communication skills. You can send them everything they ask for and they still lag about your claim. They make me feel like it is their job to deny or lag about most claims. The reps don’t give any useful info even when asked. I have been in peer review for 2 weeks, on top of that I have never received written communication from them. I am almost homeless waiting on a decision on my claim. They don’t seem to care about people. They will not let you speak to a supervisor over the Analyst team lead. Dulce and Martha are useless. Get an attorney on standby you will need them.
