After four months of wading through paperwork with my employer, The Hartford, and my poor doctor, I was denied the 10k they owed me. No elaborate explanation or email, just a 32-second voicemail that a decision was reached. I've been on chelation therapy for 9 months, experiencing extreme adrenal fatigue, lapses of consciousness, moderate-severe IBS daily, etc. but none of that matters because a doctor in TX read my file and says I won't ____ my pants on the job... Needless to say, I am appealing the decision, but don't have confidence in The Hartford to do the right thing.

This is the most deplorable company we have ever worked with! No follow through refuse to return calls, lost personal data and paper work patients are required to do all the leg work. This company does everything to not pay out making it almost impossible to receive benefits. Their excuses are absolutely outrageous if they don't just give you the we don't know closed ended statement. You hurt more then you help absolutely disgusting!

Terrible company. They lie even when you have proof. I had 2 contractors and 2 inspectors tell me there was hail damage to my roof. But when I called them back about the claim they said there was nothing, just some blistering but no hail damage. They just want to collect your money and won't pay out no matter how much proof you have.

This company is terrible. I was on short term disability for 6 months and then on long term disability for 1 year. Only problem I had with them is that they buried my cardiologists with paperwork every 3 months and then they couldn't seem to receive faxes worth a damn. I got involved with the paperwork and I forwarded and suddenly the emails worked. Fax never did. They cut me off for 2 months, claiming the doctors didn't get back to them. They paid me back a lump sum on the 3rd month. After 1 1/2 years of receiving benefits, they decided that they job they had me insured for was a sedentary job and not a job where I was on my feet and talking to customers. I was a Best Buy General Manager. Best Buy wants you on the floor 90% of the time. Best Buy is an excellent company and they really care for their employees. I'm going to write the powers to be and let them know that the Hartford cut me off because the General Manager job only requires me to be on my feet 20% of the day. They cut me off with no notice and I'm going thru ERISA to get the denial reviewed. My lawyers said this was a "ridiculous" action by the Hartford. The Hartford reps were very nice to talk with and very professional, but they said that the company made this determination and that I'd have to sue to review the denial with ERISA.

This is the worst insurance company that I have ever dealt with. They don't answer your calls, they don't return your calls, they don't properly nor expediently process yor claims. They ignore their clients and can give less about the end results. The reps tend to make their own decisions about your claims before any documentation is presented. Very unprofessionalism. Very uncaring.

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! - Nothing short! The worst insurance whose agents do not cancel your bond or insurance you purchase, let them auto renew and do not tell you about it. Once the payment get added up they cancel it for "non payment" and then send collection agency behind you to collect the payment. Beware of all these techniques, be well informed before you purchase anything from them.

After fighting with them for a month and a half and them burying our doctor in duplicate paperwork, the claim was denied due to one set of papers not being returned by the doctor. Every representative we talk to says to give it time to process. Not sure how much more time they need since they have gotten all the paperwork. They continue to send the doctor papers at least twice a week that she has already filled out and returned. They say they dont receive it but, the timeline shows that they have received it.

Garbage company. Needed to use STD for a hospitalization and they told me I didn’t qualify for my full allotted time. I asked how they make their decisions and it was definitely not based on my doctors reports even though they asked for a million different forms. My assigned representative NEVER picked up the phone or called back. I was NEVER allowed to speak to a manager or Adjustor directly. No one ever called me back to ask questions or explain what else is needed to move my claim along. Fraudulent company if you ask me.
