My wife waited for weeks for the Hartford Employee insurance which she has paid for 20 years. When she was injured she did all that was asked of her. They deposited $3,147.14 into her account. Three days later they took it back and left us with bounced checks. Today, several weeks and many off-putting calls to their customer service later, she finally received a check that was supposed to assist her in her time of need. It was for $1.29.

THEY WRONGFULLY TERMED MY AIUTO POLICY WHILE I WAS STILL IN MY GRACE PERIOD. I HAD UNAUTHORIZED FUNDS HELD ON MY BANK ACCT AND IT RETURNED MY INS PMT. THE DAY I GOT NOTICE FROM THEM I CALLED TO MAKE PMT AND THEY REFUSED IT AND THAT IT COULD NOT BE REINSTATED EVEN THO I TOOK THE PROPER STEPS TO CORRECT IT. UPON ME QUESTIONING IT THEY WOULD NOT GIVE AN ANSWER AS TO WHY AND SAID IT HAD TO BE TAKEN UP WITH CONSUMER AFFAIRS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HANDLE COMPLAINTS. THE SO CALLED MANAGER OVER THE WHOLE THING HAD NO AUTHORITY OR ANSWERS TO ANYTHING AS KEPT REPEATING HIM SELF LIKE READING A PREPARED SCRIPT LIKE THE CALL CENTERS THAT ARE OUTSOURCED ACROSS SEAS THAT DONT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING YOU SAY SO ARE UNHELPFUL IN ANY SITUATION AT ALL. A BASIC COMPLAINT LINE THAT ENDS THERE. THEY ARE CROOKED THEIVES BACKED BY AARP TO SCAM FREE MONEY FROM ANYBODY STUPID ENOUGH TO FALL FOR THEIR IGNORANCE

Terrible response time from adjuster, plus, I had three different adjusters, the third one never returned my email. They burned me on the enhancements I had on my recent totaled F150. Their communication is really subpar. I hope I do not have to litigate against them, they need to pay up at least $2,500 to me to save face and me as a customer

I wanted to sign up for disability insurance with them, but I was denied due to my "anxiety". I'm sorry, but really? My anxiety is not that serious. I work full time as a Healthcare professional, been doing it 10 years, and function just as well as anyone else. To deny me disability insurance due to mild anxiety is absurd. However, I'm actually glad I was denied because if Hartford labels mild anxiety as a serious health issue, then we know full well you're not going to approve anything had I been allowed to sign up. No thanks. Keep your greed. I'm out and finding a new insurance company who actually has common sense.

Purchased homeowners insurance from the Hartford on 11/11/22. Hartford was to send a copy of the policy to my bank, as of 11/22/2022 this had not been done. After receiving a letter from my bank on 11/28/2022 requesting this information, I contacted Hartford's customer service and spoke with Jacqueline on 11/28/2022 and provided the fax number for the bank. Jacqueline assured me that the policy information requested by the bank would be sent within the next 30 minutes. Today, 1/3/2023, I receive a second and final notice from the bank asking for this information. I have never had such an experience with any insurance company before the Hartford. If this matter isn't handled promptly, I will take my home and autos to another insurance company immediately.

Settled a bogus claim filed by a woman that was threatening to sue. Instead of taking it to court they settled for an enormous amount and it goes against my claim history. Which in turn means that my rates will go up. This is the second time in 10 years that they have done this to my company. I had dropped them for some years and was talked into going back to them. I will never do business with them again.

I've been told three times now to submit paperwork for my leave of absence which I have verified every time, yet there still seems to be something wrong that no one will explain to me. The first time, the company said they would reach out to my doctor for it and then I received no updates until it was flat out denied with no explanation until I called customer service. Apparently there was a missing page, which I retrieved from my doctor and uploaded myself, but I'm told there's still paperwork missing. Yet when I go to download the blank form to see what's missing, it's the exact form I just uploaded. No transparency and awful timeliness.
