Hartford is way too expensive! I came to them through AARP, because they were supposed to look out for seniors and offer competitive rates! Not the case, when renewal time comes around you better know that it is going to increase!! I have no claims, senior, retired and hardly ever drive -but yet I am paying way too much for car insurance!! I called another competitor and got it at half the price! I took all of my business from them! Home and cars! Enough of these high rates!!! No claims, excellent driving record, excellent credit yet miserable prices!!!!

Only gave 1 star because of choice. Although, my claim was approved. I’m the beginning, it was denied because they stated my Dr did not provide the documents requested in time. My Dr had until the 30th of the month, the denied ny claim on the 18th of the month. That was on the Hartford, not my Drs office. I can never get ahold of Stacie Patterson, she doesn’t return phone calls. She makes notes on your file for customer care to answer your question. I do understand that there are multiple people she has to deal with, but damn. If you know there is an issue, why can’t you take the time to email, call or whatever to help resolve the problem. Don’t leave customer care responsible for your mess. I truly wish, companies would utilize another STD provider and rid this ancient ass company. They do more harm than good with people. When your our for whatever reasons your out for, you should not have to have the added stress of The Hartford not doing what you pay them to do.

Had car insurance with them or a couple of years and their premiums are high when compared to major insurers and they are supposed to be Senior friendly and recommended by AARP. Cancelled and went with another major Insurance company for almost a hundred dollars less per month for same coverage. Their ads touting low rates for Seniors are BS. The only communication you get is when your payment is due. Would not recommend for Seniors or anyone else

Hartford is horrible insurance company Operating illegally always lieing stayimg they never get paperwork From doctors When my doctors have sent enormous amount of paperwork over ten times for them to keep lieing always saying we didn’t get paperwork They are liars and a major joke of a company And getting away with ripping companies and employees off And close your case anytime they feel like it because of their own unorganization and in cooperativeness Do yourself a favor and your own families a favor check who and what insurance for disability that company has before you go to work there if they have Hartford RUN Bc when you get sick they will Lie and do anything not to pay someone legally they should be paying I’ve called them two times after the millionth time once again closing my case Hc of their incompetence And zero no calls back promised to call me back zero call back zero care Their managers are so much worst then their customer service folks Rude and snide and hold a grudge against you if you do a bad review on them and exploit them for their illegal behavior They lose paper work all the time That’s their main excuse for closing your case bc either they losing it or they just sooooo in organized such a joke They are worst insurance company I’ve ever dealt with and they just get away with breaking the law and screwing folks over that have worked for long years when get sick disabled can’t work no more don’t count on them the Hartford will screw you and your families So check before you take a job with a company make sure they not with the Hartford for disability insurance Bc of they are you better RUN the other direction

Horrible how about you try working with a brain injury with full blown symptoms with multiple neck and back injuries you guys are unrealistic and unfair to people who are truly suffering and disabled with 6 of my health care providers who all told you I cannot work yet… you go above and beyond to hound the drs who care for me while leaving the person injured in the dark and deny claim w no reason why “your analysist did not put notes on the account” you guys are terrible and bring on unnecessary stress which in turn makes health matters worse for your disabled people.

Don't even try these guys. I can't believe that AARP endorses such a company. Their ratings all over are poor. My realtor & lawyer at closing were laughing at how much they were charging me for homeowner insurance. This is an AARP account, good score, no claims from previous reputable company who I had been with for years before I left that state, no derogatory remarks at all in my credit report. No reason for personally being charged a ridiculous amount so apparently everyone gets ripped off! They said it was like $500 or more than the average. Now more issues with hartford. I wrote the full info offline but cant copy and paste here. Not rewriting. Just know wouldn't recommend to worst enemy!

It’s exactly what the world knows about the typical insurance company and car salesman… this company is very dishonest! I’m still waiting almost 5 months and nothing, they seem very shady and scam-like!

Unbelievably terrible company. Good luck getting ahold of someone on the phone or by email. If you get a response, it will likely be unhelpful and filled with angst. Apparently the people working here are miserable.
