I had short term disability thru my employer who uses Hartford. Every time I went to Dr I would let Hartford know dates and time and after I went to Dr. They did not send form to Dr. Then I would not get my full week pay then they would send form to Dr. And I had to wait for money on next check.and I would call and ask for the person who taking care of my account and it would take sometime a week before calling back. It’s stressful enough going thru major surgery then have to worry about getting a weekly check when I had 100 dollars taken out of my paycheck for 25 years .I would of thought they would handle it better without me having to remind them.

Had to wait 16 hours for Hartford Towing service, very DUMB people who work for the towing service dept. then i had to pay for my own towing, which they promise to refund, we will wait and see if they pay

If you own a pellet stove and have installed it yourself you should forget the Hartford for insurance. They made me jump through hoops by getting my local fire chief to inspect my installation and he said above and beyond factory specs then, when they asked if I had my stove cleaned once a year by a professional who probably makes $12/hr who doesn't give a dam..I said no I clean it myself and was cancelled. Remember...any Connecticut insurance company sucks!! They are all way too PICKY! Don't waste your time!

After being on Long-Term Disability for 16 years, the Hartford now says that I am no longer disabled. I have a chronic, incurable condition, that has multiple serious secondary issues that have only gotten worse as I've gotten older. I have had to deal with a revolving door of claims analysts, have jumped through multiple hoops to keep resending paperwork that they claim to have never received, and now received a letter listing occupations that I can perform that aren't even available in my area. Not to mention that the salaries that are listed for these jobs are VERY overblown and nowhere near the realm of realistic expectations. The letter I received also states that, since I was paid BEFORE they determined that I was no longer disabled, they expect me to pay them back for the overpayment!

If I could give a 0 I would I don’t see why companies use Hartford I had shoulder surgery last year they started out paying and then stopping and kept asking for paperwork in which my doctor has provided over 30 times and I’m still waiting months for another payment and because I can’t get paid I’m unable to complete physical therapy and they still don’t care

They only insure a home that has only 2 claims or fewer in 7 years. I have a 25-year-old home with only 1 claim and they refused to insure it because my rental home had 2 claims. That home is 60 years old. Our home is insured on the outside complete with brand new roof the HOA paid for, so all I wanted was to insure the contents and they said we do not qualify. One claim on our house and we are considered high risk for this money hungry company.

Today I tried to get a quote from Hartford insurance for 2 of my vehicles. I was told that because I have a Hyundai they could not insure me. The reason given: Hyundai's can be stolen easily. I consider that to be unfair against Hyundai vehicle owners.

After more than a decade w/AARP’s Hartford insuring our vehicles & homes in W. then E. Washington State, our rural (fire-wise) farm with homes, outbuildings and forestland are located in a region with increasing risk of wildfire. This is an issue that was “never discussed” by the insurer but we believe may-well have been a basis for what has happened. We were notified (Summer 2022) a local area photographer would need access; that denying access was our right but would prompt non-renewal, and that those photos would provide the Hartford exterior representation of our homes & outbuildings. Within weeks of that visit two telephone interviews followed and during the second call we were told we would not be renewed. The Hartford underwriter’s agent explained the insurer “didn’t have an appetite” to continue. A reason would be provided in writing by end of year/ 2022. When the non-renewal date (thus cancelation) of our homeowner’s insurance came, The Hartford sent notice of a vehicle insurance premium increase, having lost the discount for insuring both homes and vehicles. We’d become discards. Had The Hartford suggested a farm-policy or another instrument to continue the relationship we would have embraced-it. But the language from a woman charged with remotely assessing the risk WE posed to The Hartford’s bottom line was the essence of disrespect. While we grasp the demands that are placed on underwriters to maintain solvency for investors, and we believe those who facilitate The Hartford’s operation must be under duress with so many calamities to address nationwide, it’s an affront to be dismissed when we strive to self-protect from liabilities of every-kind. Every building is rimmed with rock at base, fire retardant shakes, metal roofing, and green-spaces are watered & mowed. We have fire drills each summer and a water trailer with holding tank and fire hose that everyone here can operate. We restored a 1912 barn working with the State; a project that took us three years of concerted effort. We’re fastidious about safety and are responsible to each other and our community. The Hartford’s disloyalty to us prompts this review posting. The farm and outbuildings are now insured by Liberty Mutual & vehicles are with Progressive. We would never have jumped ship, but The Hartford left us without safe harbor
