They canceled my home owner insurance in less than 1 month saying my pets were not authorized pets (rat terrier mix, German shepherd mix and black lab). Neither of them were the breeds that disqualified them (pitbull, Rottweiler, cane corso). They suck! I sent them documentation but they are just stupid!!!

I send and resend and resend my Dr
I send and resend and resend my Dr. notes on why I cannot work. Still won’t send short term payments. Tell your employer to go with a different short/long term insurance company.

Not a Fan.
Not a Fan.. this company assists crappy employers and LLC’S in offering employees overpriced crappy benefits that don’t cover you until two weeks of being out of work but it’s a crappy job to begin with right?! so go figure.. there’s no pressure off of you when making a claim.. it was literally updated because I called and the status changed immediately because of paperwork that was just sitting there..You feel No sense of urgency when dealing with them.

It’s been 10 months since a tree hit my home. I’m still fighting to get the inside fixed!! Deny, delay , decline. AARP should be ashamed of their affiliation with these crooks. Zero stars

The worst insurance company
The worst insurance company. Don’t get fooled by the AARP discounts , They pay out without letting the person know their is a claim against them , I have spent a year for an incident in a parking lot , police report stating no more than 1000 dollars damage to either car , yet they paid out 22 thousand dollars to an individual . I sent them pictures of both cars , scratch on mine smudge on hers , I was never notified of the claim being paid but when I got my renewal they were going to charge me over 2000 dollars more for a year . I would advise anyone to stay clear of this company ,Every time I called I was assigned a new agent , sent them all the information , took my car to a body shop they told me to go to and the guy said no way ,no how could that amount of damage be done in a parking lot with slant parking two cars reversing . When I questioned how and who was the adjuster on the claim ,, he never returned my calls or answered his phone .

One star is the lowest I can give
One star is the lowest I can give. I am currently searching for another insurer at present. These people are , well, I can't say. But steer clear of Hartford. You'll be glad you did.
And if you don't, it will only take one encounter to clarify what I mean.

I had two vehicles insured by them and canceled the policy. I kept getting bills from Hartford so I sent a declaration from my new insurance. I am still receiving bills which is frustrating

Stay away from Hartford Insurance
Unfortunately, I am not able to give zero (0) stars.
On April 27, 2025, I switched insurance companies due to a significant rate increase. I have no accidents or points on my driver's license, and I use my vehicle for pleasure. While shopping for insurance, I saw an advertisement for Hartford through AARP. I had to join AARP to purchase Hartford insurance through them. I completed the lengthy application and the Statement of Residency for New Jersey. I paid my policy in full. On April 26, I received an email, “Welcome To The Hartford. Thank you for choosing The Hartford. You can relax knowing you’re protected by a company that’s been trusted for more than 200 years.”
On April 26, I received an email from Hartford advising me to e-sign to finalize my auto policy by April 28, or a paper copy would be mailed. I made changes to the policy and e-signed it late in the evening on April 28. On April 29, at 1:52 a.m., I received another email, “Voided: Please Sign to Finalize Your Auto Policy.” This email stated I could not e-sign my documents and needed to send in the paper copies. Since I e-signed late in the evening on April 28, I thought my documents had not been posted yet. On April 30, I received an email stating that the Pre-Insurance Inspection had been completed. After receiving the report, I called Hartford because the report did not accurately reflect certain features of my vehicle. The representative did not mention that the required documents had not been returned.
I never received any further email or letter from Hartford about these documents until June 16, 2025, when they informed me they were canceling my policy. The written reason was “failure to return the required application and New Jersey Statement of Residency form.” I called and spoke with Lance. He said that I did not return the signed Statement of Residency form and that the State of NJ requires it, not Hartford. I have spoken to several insurance companies, and none have heard of this form. I sent emails to different Hartford addresses and the Doc U Sign address with the signed paperwork, but I did not get a response. On June 20, I sent the documents via certified and regular mail. On June 27, I called and spoke with Jasmine. She kept circling around and told me that the emails I received from Hartford were not from Hartford. What? It is now June 30, and I haven't received the certified letter. Jasmine also denied that the letter was received by regular mail. I am going to the Post Office to resend the letters.
