Absolutely with out a doubt the worst . We had both Auto and Home insurance and they went up in rate significantly every year , without a notice of email , letter or a phone call . I found better rates with several others . I feel so bad for the elderly because they are getting ripped off if they don’t have the help to navigate different companies ! Horrible!!

Wow...with a 1.2 I don't guess there is much use in a review lol. Whatever you have read,believe it. Any corner that they can cut will be done to avoid sending you a check each week. Sending tons of paperwork back to back,phone calls back to back,once something is missed then they don't pay. I work for a small company and I plan on begging them to find someone else to use. So don't fall for the sympathetic phone calls acting like they care and I hope you have savings if you're counting on them.good luck

Alex McClain, Hartford adjuster, has been extremely difficult to work with to the point of not returning phone calls and emails for weeks at a time. We had two duplex condos heavily damaged by a driver insured with the Hartford through their AARP program. This was on March 19 - we have not been able to get any repairs done yet!!! However, the insured had a different car within two weeks of the claim being submitted (which the insured did not do - the Association the duplexes are in had to file the claim. Our property looks horrible - the homeowners are at their wits end - we are looking at over 100 degree weather here shortly and need to get this labor-intensive work done within the next two weeks! The accident happened on March 19th - it is not May 21st....We had this nightmare dumped on us because of the Hartford's insured - yet we have had roadblocks at every turn. Since the Hartford would not send out an adjuster to help us, we (Board of the Association) have had to do all their work, have been cooperative all along the way, submitted all the information requested only to meet with rudeness, unresponsiveness and left with total lack of trust in the Hartford. Is this what the Hartford means by "We work to earn your trust every day!" If Alex McClain in an example of the employees the Hartford chooses to represent themselves there is no way they are gaining anyone's trust.

Horrible insurance company. They increased my premium for a few hundred a month to 3K. I left and found much better insurance.

STAY AWAY...Initially The Hartford was okay when we first started several years ago. The past couple of years it's gotten "progressively" worse. From the rude, condescending reps, and the piss poor ghetto road service. The Hartford sends out scary meth heads in the their own raggedy vehicles to give you a jump. In addition to the sneaky maneuvers they pull in their billing that shows ŵe owe $302 more on renewal, but we've been current throughout the entire year. The Hartford says we've carried over it from the prior term. However, in no statements does the balance show past due nor is the the calculated premium consistent with the additional money they say we owe them. Not ONCE have we received a past due notice or a notice of possible termination for unpaid premium. The the rip-off of joining AARP stating you will receive all these senior discounts is also a joke. In the two year we had that never occurred. It's another money grab. Keep your savings of $14 a month with AARP or whatever it is, because trust me they will make that up in overcharging you. The Hartford needs to change the logo from a deer to a bull because they are full of it. Don't waste your time with these crooks...

I provided my leave date and return date. I was, according to Hartford, provided the wrong documents (by Hartford) that I submitted to my dr to fill out as I thought that Hartford would know how to do their job. They called me today (4 days after my claim creation, with 11 days left to provide necessary documents) to let me know that they provided me with the wrong documents and need to send me a new document through email as they don't know how to add the document they actually need through my portal. Hopefully, they sent me the correct documents this time. They have made this process unnecessarily confusing and chaotic. I hope they can provide their employees with training and easy to follow SOPs such that they may know how to do their jobs. I do not trust this company, and suspect that the incompetency is intentional.

Our Hartford car insurance went went up over $70 from $422 to $503. I am definitely going to shop around!
