I recently adopted an 8-week old golden retriever ("Sadie") who was weened on a kibble diet. As instructed, I began transitioning her from her kibble to The Farmer's Dog. On day one, I noticed she was eating The Farmer's Dog and rejecting her kibble. I tried to hand feed her the kibble. No luck! I decided not to transition and go straight to feeding Sadie The Farmer's Dog. Oh my goodness. What a difference. Sadie loves The Farmer's Dog and I'm sold. I only wish I had raised my other goldens on this awesome food. THANK YOU FARMER'S DOG! You have another lifetime customer. Sadie sends a wet, sloppy kiss.

I highly recommend The Farmer's Dog meals for Senior Dogs with no teeth...meals are very digestable and my Studebaker is very happy at mealtime.

I have been using farmers dog for about 3 years for our 9 year old shih tzu. I will never go back to mass produced store bought food. Her vitality, coat and energy level has shown a marked difference since being on this diet. It is somewhat on the expensive side but you save twice as much on vet bills, there are some recipes she won't eat, but most she eats. It could get quite expensive for larger breeds, but my little girl will never get anything else! worth it!

So, my dog has a very sensitive stomach. There was always something wrong with her & I could never really put my finger on it– she ate “regular” dog food, drank water, exercised… and yet she still seemed to have problems using the bathroom, or just seemed generally bloated. She’s my world!! And I knew this just couldn’t feel good to her, and after countless visits to the vet, it seemed pretty hopeless. I thought I’d give changing her diet a shot; I’d already heard about kibbles being mostly filler and were typically nutrient deficient, so I began to make her meals myself! Rice, beef, chicken, carrots, pumpkin, broccoli… the whole shebang. But after a few months, there were other factors in my life I had to take into consideration, and I found that there was very little time I had left to make her food– which was a TIME CONSUMER!!– so naturally, I’m starting to think of alternatives. A video showed up on my page, not an advertisement, but a recommendation by a creator I follow detailing her experience with the Farmer’s Dog & how helpful it was to her dog, especially since he was on the older side (mine is too!!). I was originally put off by the price, but after some research and some talking it through with a representative (excellent, super patient customer service– I wish I got his name so I could commend him here) and some family, I decided to give it a shot. Initially receiving the packaging, I was coming back home so I wasn’t sure when EXACTLY it was delivered, but it was a nicely put-together box, completely insulated and freezing cold so all of the dog food was still frozen when I took it out. I simply defrosted by putting two of them in the fridge, the rest in the freezer, and waited until the next day. Each bag (pouch?) has a sticker on it with the recipe, and, at least to me, it’s pretty easy to tell what the ingredients are just by looking at it. Unsurprisingly, my dog loved it! She seemed a little confused at the preparation as I usually move around the kitchen getting all her food a lot more while she waits, but all I had to do was squeeze half the bag into her bowl, mix it up a bit, throw it in the microwave, and set it down for her. I was a little nervous, since she’s sometimes apprehensive to new things, but she got ONE whiff and wolfed it down!!! I was so happy!!!! We’re almost a full month in, and so far, everything has been smooth sailing– she’s a happy, active girl who gets excited about food now! That’s all I could ever ask for.
