Farmers Dog is great food and my dog loves it. Their customer service exceeds almost any you will find. You can actually get hold of a real person.
But their delivery is HORRIBLE. Twice they have delivered after dark and my home is about a 1/8 of a mile from the street where they deliver. I cannot see to get the food. I have asked for a 7 pm latest delivery and they say they cannot do it. I suspect for the volume they ship they could mandate ANY cut off delivery hour.
Farmer’s Dog replied to this rating that they would like me to contact them by email to be sure that I got adequate support from them. I did email them and got exactly the same “support” I have previously gotten. Basically the response was sorry, wish we could help.

Outstanding Company
Initially, I liked the fact that we were able to have our sweet German shepherd try the Farmer’s Dog at a discounted rate without having to commit to anything long term if he didn’t like it. Titan was a fan from the start, and we knew it was better quality food than kibble, but since we are retired and on a budget, we mixed the two. His favorite was the turkey!
The fact that it was so easy to communicate with the Farmer’s Dog via text (or app) and how they always kept me informed of when Titan’s next shipment would arrive was wonderful. I could customize deliveries based on his usage and appetite. Unfortunately, we had to put Titan down on 8/24 due to a suspected brain tumor. He was almost 11. The care and compassion shown by the employees who texted with me as I cancelled his food order was outstanding and truly heartfelt. They were amazing! Although I won’t be ready to own another dog any time soon, I do know that my next fur baby will be treated to the Farmer’s Dog from the beginning!

My parents switched to Farmer's Dog to…
My parents switched to Farmer's Dog to help control their dogs weight. Worked great. When she passed a few weeks ago not only did they refund the last order but they sent a plant and a card! Thank you guys for giving such great service. It's good to know there are still companies that truly care about their customers. I will be switching to you for my pet food going forward.

These people don't care about your animal and will lie to you just to make a sale.
This company issue is their lack of concern for any animal much less yours. I ordered this food and told them my dog had sever pancreatitis and had to be low fat chicken. They sent beef full fat and threw my dog almost into hospital again. Then while dealing with that had to send them email not to send any more food. They put very short time frame on there and sent wrong food again. I called demanding refund; they refunded my money. They offered to send more for free, and I turned it down because I didn't know or what I was going to do with dog who had issues with farmers dog food. Three weeks after the wrong food being sent, I started with 1 teaspoon of food combined with 2 teaspoons of gastrointestinal food. Now almost 10 weeks later I was going to try again with them, but only if I had control of when they sent food and the right food. Called and email they never made any attempt to contact to restart food order. I refuse to restart wrong food delivery because they can't or won't provide what was purchased. The only reason I made any attempt was because 1 dog like it and other dog can't eat all of the food in bad before it goes bad because of her condition. Now I will switch other dog to Ollie which they both have tried and liked just have to transition to something different. I was trying to keep from both dogs going thru it but with failed customer service of farmer dogs it is best because I won't have to deal with their failures anymore. Don't use farmer dog try Fresh Pet or Ollie's gave much more response for customers who want the best for their animal.
Now a week later respond shows that you don't care or have a business model set out to help animals. I was told had to speak to same person who took order 1st time when I called. That was a lie. Then the person never called and back. So, you can't speak to someone unless you get 1st person you spoke, really this is your business model. Plus, upon research this company I find you have possible lawsuit over fat content of dog food. Exactly what happen to my dog. You responded to review but did not respond customer. Defines you are not interested in helping dog only profits and possible scam now I see possible malpresentation of dog food fat content.

A caring company
I had recently canceled my Farmer’s Dog food order after losing my dog, and completely unexpectedly, they sent me a plant with a condolence note.
There was nothing for them to gain from doing that. I was no longer a customer. It was simply an incredibly thoughtful and compassionate gesture at a difficult time.
That kind of kindness says a lot about a company and the people behind it. I won’t forget it.
Thank you, The Farmer’s Dog. You went far beyond customer service and showed genuine humanity.

We know how hard it is losing a pup, and hope the plant can bring some light to the difficult times ❤️

Where do I start
Where do I start? Our Red Dog has been on Farmers Dog for over 2 years. He absolutely loves it. He’s 50 lb Red Heeler with tons of energy. I credit The Farmers Dog for his health and energy.
Now for their customer service! Their caring, kindness and dedication for every single customer is something we need more of. They make it personal. Wether it’s a text, call or chat they take the time to hear you, answer simple questions or give suggestions. Last week I changed Reds food to the new Instant Fresh. I just got a follow up text from Evan checking on Red and his new food. He even wished Red a Happy Birthday for today. I’ll put The Farmers Dog in the column of “money well spent”. If you love your dog and you love service with a smile The Farmers Dog should be your go to!

More Than Dog Food
More Than Dog Food — A Team That Showed Us Genuine Compassion
I originally came back to The Farmer’s Dog because of my 15-year-old dog, Asahi, whom we also call Bubbles.
Over the past year, Bubbles has been through more than I ever imagined an old little dog could endure — pancreatitis, a colon infection, Giardia, gallbladder problems, popped eye lens caused by Glaucoma and all the complications that can come with being 15 years old. At his worst, his weight dropped from around 10 pounds to only 4–4.5 pounds. There were moments when nobody thought he was going to make it.
Somehow, slowly, he recovered.
But after everything his body had been through, eating became incredibly difficult. He became extremely picky and selective, and every meal became something I worried about. I decided to try The Farmer’s Dog again, simply hoping it might be one of the foods he would still accept.
Then came another very bad week. Bubbles refused everything I offered him. Chicken. Different brands of dog food. I was so desperate that I even tried Spam just hoping he would eat something. Nothing worked.
Then I put down a plate of The Farmer’s Dog.
He ate the entire thing.
I cried.
After spending so much time watching him struggle, seeing him actually want food again felt like the smallest little light at the end of an incredibly long tunnel.
I emailed The Farmer’s Dog simply because I wanted to share what that moment meant to me. I wasn’t expecting anything in return. The next day, Melanie from their support team called me and left the most heartfelt voicemail, and she followed up with an email offering encouragement and support. It genuinely touched me.
Bubbles began feeling better again for a while.
Unfortunately, this week he has declined again. He has been dealing with diarrhea and refusing food, and at 15 years old, I understand the reality that his time with us is precious and limited.
I already had another Farmer’s Dog shipment scheduled and reached out hoping I could cancel it. I didn’t realize it had already shipped and was on its way.
Their response left me emotional all over again.
They refunded the order anyway and told me that when the food arrived, I could share it with friends, family, or another dog in need. Dylan also sent another incredibly kind and supportive message during what has been a very difficult and uncertain time for me.
At this stage of Bubbles’ life, it isn’t just about dog food anymore.
When you love an animal for 15 years, they become part of your identity, your routines, your family, and your heart. Knowing that his days may be numbered is incredibly painful. Sometimes a little compassion from another person can mean far more than they realize.
The Farmer’s Dog team gave me that compassion — twice.
I will never forget the day Bubbles refused everything except their food, and I will never forget how their team treated us when we were struggling.
Thank you to Melanie and Dylan and everyone at The Farmer’s Dog for seeing the person and the little old dog behind an order number. Your kindness helped me through some very dark days.
And from Bubbles — thank you for giving an old, stubborn, very loved little dog a meal he actually wanted to eat. ❤️
