1-Star Review — Tempur-Pedic Mattress - Purchased at Ashley HomeStore, Miami FL, April 2025
I’m writing this in the hope of saving someone else from the costly mistake my fiancée and I made. We purchased Temperpedic’s top of the line Adapter Collection Medium Firm. What we bought & why • Model / price: Queen-size Tempur-Pedic Adapt Collection mattress, roughly $3,399. • Reason for purchase: The Ashley HomeStore sales rep assured both of us—repeatedly—that this mattress would “fix” my chronic lower-back pain. On the strength of that promise, we upgraded from a cheaper model to the top-tier Tempur-Pedic and purchased the required mattress-protector bundle. Our experience after 60+ nights • We followed every instruction: kept the mattress on a solid base, used the protector, and endured the recommended 30-night “break-in.” • Instead of relief, both of us now wake up stiff and sore. My back pain is worse than it was on our old budget mattress. My fiancée, who never had back issues, now has morning pain as well. Customer-service run-around 1. Ashley HomeStore (Miami)—Would not allow a second exchange, citing their one-time 90-night Sleep Guarantee (which we unknowingly used up on the first swap). 2. Ashley Corporate—Confirmed the store’s refusal and offered zero alternatives. 3. Tempur-Pedic Support—Sympathetic but said they can’t help because the sale “falls under the retailer’s policy.” They referred me back to Ashley, completing the circle. Where that leaves us • $3,500+ in debt (financed through the store) • Two people with back pain every morning • No practical way to return, exchange, or even get meaningful technical support Bottom line If you’re considering a Tempur-Pedic, do not rely on sales promises about pain relief, and be aware that Ashley’s single-exchange rule leaves you with no safety net. Spend your money with a retailer—and on a brand—that stands behind its comfort claims. With no help from neither Ashley Home Furniture Store nor Tempurpedic, I strongly recommend against purchasing
