Disappointing Customer Support and Poor Continuity of Care
I was a satisfied Talkiatry patient for more than two years and had an excellent relationship with my psychiatrist. Unfortunately, after my provider left the platform, my experience changed considerably. I was reassigned to a new psychiatrist, and what should have been a relatively straightforward transition became an unnecessarily stressful experience involving a longstanding medication regimen. I understand that providers must exercise their own clinical judgment, but I also believe an established patient deserves some consideration and continuity of care. My biggest disappointment, however, has been with Talkiatry's customer support. When dealing with psychiatric care, patients should be able to expect timely communication, clear answers, and meaningful assistance when problems arise. Instead, I've been left feeling as though I'm responsible for navigating a problem created by the company's own provider transition. Customer support should be there to resolve these situations, not add to the frustration. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I genuinely liked Talkiatry and had every intention of remaining a patient. Unfortunately, a good relationship with an individual psychiatrist means very little if the company behind them cannot provide adequate support when circumstances change. Mental healthcare requires consistency, communication, and trust. Talkiatry needs to do a much better job supporting its existing patients, particularly when those patients have done nothing more than try to maintain their established care.
