I had a meeting to be assessed for adhd. I called ahead, confirmed they accepted my insurance (BCBS) and asked what my cost would be ($60). I met with my Dr., for a half hour, who read off a list of questions off a screen. She then asked that I get blood work done (cholesterol, thyroid, etc.) to rule out other factors. She did not have the codes or costs of the blood work. I have not had it done yet, I have been trying to figure out that cost, and can not get codes from them. I was then charged $381 for the half hour office visit. I have been going round and round with the office and my insurance trying to get it figured out. It’s been almost a month and haven’t gotten anywhere. My insurance calls them and leaves messages, and Talkatary refuses to call my ins, saying they aren’t allowed .I would recommend going elsewhere, because being told one price and being charged six times the amount, and not getting any answers is ridiculous.

I was told incorrectly when I called about my bill saying that my insurance paid it and then the man helping me said that they incorrectly bill me and that it would be removed from my account. But it turns out it wasn’t so I am so frustrated. In addition I did this only to get my medical records confirming I had ADHD so I need the record to send to my doctor but I have sent a request 3 separate times and they have never been sent to me so I feel like I paid $475 for nothing and am so disappointed and upset by this entire situation. I hope that they stop treating vulnerable people with mental health issues like this it is truly disgusting.

I was looking for an adult ADHD evaluation and was referred to Talkiatry by my primary care doctor. From the beginning of my appointment, the NP seemed disinterested. I started describing my symptoms and she stopped me, and told me to answer yes/no to a series of questions she asked. It felt like answering an online questionnaire through a person. She also asked me the same questions multiple times which shows she was not paying much attention when I spoke. At the end, she basically told me she is unsure if I have ADHD, and that she cannot treat me because I am prenatal/trying to conceive. If I knew that was the case I would not have met with her in the first place. What a waste of my time.

My daughter has been a patient since 2023. Has gone through MULTIPLE providers. There was a breach in HIPPA where someone else accessed my account, which the supervisor I spoke to gave no reason and couldn’t tell me why or give me any assurance it wouldn’t happen again. They also secretly started saving your credit cards on file and will charge you whenever you want. Not ONE time when reaching out to assistance have I been helped by anyone who knows what they are doing. AVOID!

I opened an account to schedule therapy. First of all, I don’t have the option to choose my therapist. I’ve never initiated services with them, yet in order to close my account I have to fill out a form in PDF format and submit along with my ID. I should be able to fill out a form electronically. Also, I’m NOT providing you with my ID. Based on this initial experience I wouldn’t trust them with my healthcare.

The doctor I saw through Talkiatry was fantastic, compassionate, professional, and honestly, the only positive part of this experience. Unfortunately, everything else surrounding the company was unbelievably frustrating. After just ONE visit, Talkiatry informed me they could no longer continue care because of treatment restrictions related to the state I live in. Fine. The problem started when I simply tried to obtain the notes from that one visit. What followed was an absurd, weeks-long ordeal involving hours and hours on the phone with customer service representatives who seemed completely unable to think beyond a scripted response. For over 6 hours, I was repeatedly told they had sent the medical release form, yet it never arrived because they had already deleted my portal account. The same email address they claimed they “could not verify” was the exact email they had been using for weeks to send appointment reminders, portal access, and spam emails. Eventually, someone suggested trying a different email address, and the release form came through. Then it took another 7 days of silence while I kept receiving automated emails saying the medical release form was undeliverable. I finally called again and had the patient portal reactivated so I could message the doctor directly. The doctor herself kindly forwarded the signed release form to medical records for me, which was more help than the call center had provided through this entire process. Even after that, the customer service representatives went right back into the same repetitive scripted responses about “30 business days” and supposedly being unable to verify the TWO email accounts they already had on file and could verbally confirm with me over the phone. I still do not have the notes from my ONE visit. Again, the doctor was excellent. But the portal system, records process, and customer service experience were genuinely one of the most disorganized and stressful healthcare experiences I have ever dealt with.

Talkiatry employs the very best psychologists, like Dr. Tu! After years of isolation and stagnation, Dr. Tu has enabled me to find my inner voice again! Thank you for your caring support!
