Horrible experience with talkiatry. Do not use this service if you actually have mental health struggles as this will only make them worse. Met once with a doctor that had an accent that couldn’t be understood. I was promised my insurance would cover the appointment and then it didn’t and all they had to say after lying was “sorry, too bad” except minus the sorry part. Then even if I had wanted to meet again which I did not, I was notified that my doctor had quit and I would have to start over. Terrible experience!

Their billing department is incompetent…
Their billing department is incompetent and should be investigated for violating consumer protection laws. I've been trying to resolve a bill with them for over three months and they just don't seem capable of handling. They've threatened to send this bill (which I paid) to collections about 20 times. Absolutely despicable.

They charge you for ridiculous stuff
They charge you for ridiculous stuff. I had an online appointment for ADHD where the psychiatrist gave me a couple of quizzes I found online for free afterwards and got charged a base 250$ for a facility/office visit fee IN ADDITION TO the 100$ for the actual psychiatry appointment. I never went to any facility. They don’t even have physical facilities. I called to ask to have this charge removed and the guy said they charge a range of 305-450$ for any initial appointment and that facility charge is just there to boost the cost for some Bs reasons he read off to me from a pre-written paragraph. I didn’t keep pushing him bc I know he can’t do anything and it’s not him, it’s this horrible company. Go to an actual doctor people! This place is a scam

This place is horrible
This place is horrible. First off, they say they take insurance. They “took” my insurance and then informed me 3 months later I owed them $600. They constantly hound you with emails for payment. I set up a payment plan to pay what I owed.
I was on antidepressants and adderall for ADHD. I requested a refill for both meds and the doctor I had is now saying they’ve decided to “part ways” with me because I didn’t respond to a request to see if I still wanted care because “follow ups are important”.
I have nothing either written or via email from the physician. In fact, the last communication I have is from other doctors because mine was out of office and they filled my antidepressants in New York while I live in Texas. Luckily I have a PCP appt coming up who has agreed to take on my med management.
This is a horrible practice to remove med care from people with legitimately NO warning. I have checked my patient portal several times to see there is nothing from this doctor that I needed any sort or follow up appt.

Liability is More Important than Mental Health
Liability, not the Hippocratic Oath comes first at this company. This is the danger of working with online service providers, not just in medicine, but also within other industries since this area of business isn’t well regulated. I scheduled an initial consultation and provided a complete and honest history of my case. My main concern, however, was managing a chronic condition which requires daily medication. The practitioner told me my case was too complicated for tele-psychiatry. That is a fair and honest assessment. The problems came, however, when I asked for a prescription to tide me over until I could find someone new. It can take sometimes over a month to get an appointment. He refused. That refusal wasn’t about the nature of my case. It was about liability. When I checked for aftercare notes and billing for this specific appointment, my file had been erased completely. This is highly irregular. I have never seen patient records erased. I consider the erasure of my records a red flag and would suggest staying away from this company.

They split up their bills so you can't…
They split up their bills so you can't figure out what payments are for. None of the numbers line up and I'm pretty sure they do this so you'll just pay rather than argue. I'll pay the first bill after my visit and then they'll charge me something else, not tell me about it and then send me an email a year later saying your payment is overdue.
Also I had one provider essentially ghost me. Completely unprofessional company

Do not use this service - pricing scam
Please, do not use this service! I am not the type to even leave bad reviews, but this place is borderline criminal. I had a 30 minute discovery call where we just identified the issue and I was told i would receive a list of referrals, we didn't actually DO anything. I never received the referrals, but i got a bill for $500, i guess they charge $1000 per hour for discovery calls? I was never told up front what the "appointment" would cost, prices are not on the website or anywhere else, they accepted my insurance but now it's not paying any of it. I literally can't afford that and would have never used the service if i knew what it would cost, to me i'm kind of confused how this is even legal?

TALKIATRY is CRIMINAL
TALKIATRY is CRIMINAL.
Talkiatry is EXACTLY the kind of operation we must STOP. It is a SCAM and yes this is a thing evidently. I feel ashamed that I fell for this as I have been dealing with mental health for decades. I was looking for medication management. After going thru a rather convoluted online ‘intro and historical’ process, an appointment is made. THEN, most likely, you will receive a phone call from a representative asking if they can RESCHEDULE your appointment. In my case they wanted to make the appointment for the very next day. He ALSO said that they were not able to verify my insurance and that it would take a couple days to do so. I tell the guy, “NO, I do not want to change the appointment. As a matter of fact I want to CANCEL it until you guys get the insurance worked out!” It was obvious he wasn’t going to let the call end on that note, so he went on and on asking for my personal information. He acted like he didn't really know anything -- who he was actually talking to and for what reason. He had a very thick accent and was clearly outside or in a very loud call center. The next day I received text reminders for the appointment he obviously HAD NOT CANCELLED. So, I logged in...to see what was going to happen AND to avoid the $100 'no show' fee they proudly advertise. SO…HERE’S WHAT GOES DOWN: You will spend 30-45 minutes on a televisit with yes, what appears to be an actual doctor. In my case, Dr. Sabrina Ghim was certainly professional enough, spot on in her diagnosis, and her recommendations were just fine. But, HERE’S THE PROBLEM…you see, I don’t need those things. I'm keenly aware of my DIAGNOSIS. I’ve been dealing with my mood disorders for 35 years! What I made the appointment for, as they advertise they do, was medication management, specifically for ADHD. At the end of the session, Sabrina tells me she can’t work with me. But not to worry, she’s provided some great podcasts and an email with links to my local CareNow and psychologytoday.com. Even got a link for MapQuest. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The email follow up I received [and the one you will receive as well] reads like this: Thank you for taking the time to complete your Talkiatry assessment. Unfortunately, we don’t currently have any psychiatrists who can meet your needs.
TALKIATRY is CRIMINAL.
Can’t WAIT to get the bill I won’t be paying.
Please DO NOT even consider using TALKIATRY!
We need to shut this kind of thing DOWN!
BTW, the CEO of TALKIATRY is....WAIT FOR IT....formerly the VP of an INVESTMENT COMPANY. Makes perfect sense.
