I had received services from Talkiatry. I had a psyiatrist and a therapist. My insurance company was then with Humana and they denied my claim because I received two different services. They do not tell you what is covered and what is not. I had to borrow money to pay them off. I do not recommed Talkiatry because they do not tell you that your insurance may not cover it.

Signed up but never used their services. My insurance was billed a few hundred dollars and I still have a remaining balance. Even if I did make an appointment and bailed, it doesn't make sense why I have the several charges that I do on the account. There's several charges as if I was using the service. I wasn't using their services. If I missed the appointment, I'll pay the late fee. But I'm getting charged for meeting people I never met in my life. I called down and was told I would hear back in a day or two, but I know how this is gonna go. Honestly, don't even respond to this like you did I others. Don't tell me to contact this number of that number. This is a scam. This is supposed to help people and now I got bills in from a service I never used. Be proud of yourself. Probably some pr person behind a computer, but honestly don't respond. I don't need fake pity. Don't need to be told sorry. You're pissing on my leg and telling me it's raining. So many other similar complaints... you all need taken to court.

The psychiatrist I spoke to told me he thought I would be better off with a local psychiatrist and that Talkiatry had partnerships with psychiatrists all over the country, he assured me this would not be me being placed on some waiting list, I would be in with a physical psychiatrist in a few days. I was hugely skeptical, especially because I was running low on medication, but he promised me that if I didn't have an appointment in the next couple of days he would fill my antidepressants and see me again. The next day I got an email telling me I was no longer able to use Talkiatry as the psychiatrist determined they were unable to help me. I reached out to customer service three times, was promised a callback from a manager twice, never received it. When I received my bill, I called billing three times, one time I was hung up on, and the other two times I was promised a callback, which I never received. These people literally are playing games with the lives of people with mental health.

A SCAM, paid $25 wasted 30 minutes on the phone just to have the doctor tell me he could help me and would have to refer me to another doctor. Charged my insurance $284. The only way to stop these scammers is with a class action law suit. I know they will probably file for bankruptcy and open under another name but at least we can stop this one.

I can’t believe all these bad reviews. I couldn’t ask for a better, more attentive psychiatrist. He knows what I need before I do. On top of that I have a therapist through talkiatry who is equally excellent. I like them both so much that I changed insurance plans when I found out Talkiatry didn’t take my new insurance. I must have gotten really lucky because I wouldn’t trade them for the world. Fantastic is an understatement.

We love my son’s new psychiatrist. She actually understands his condition and speaks his language. I’m thinking Talkiatry is a great service and I need to spread the word. Be careful when you need to reschedule, however. I rescheduled 2 days before his appointment; but it was 45 hours before his appointment, not 48, so I’ve been billed $100 for a no-show fee. In my head, I’m thinking at least two days in advance was the guideline: so I notified Talkiatry two days in advance as soon as I found out I had a conflicting appointment with my own doctor. I was shocked when I got the bill, so I sent an email to his Talkiatry doctor. She suggested that I email Talkiatry about the situation and I sure hope they show flexibility in this case.

I used Talkiatry for a few months and was very caught off guard by the discrepancy in charges per session and lack of communication on it. I was typically charged $200 for a session (which was only 10-15 min) and then my last session (which was the EXACT same as the other $200 sessions) somehow costed $315 and there was 0 explanation as to the difference. I will NOT be using their services any more and advise others against it.

Shay Hammond (the provider of the sole positive review for this corporation) must be rich bc what I paid for an out of pocket SINGLE appt then tho I was told my insurance was accepted for $500. The care was ok but their predatory billing practices are deeply unethical and disturbing. One year later and I’m threatening small claims to make the harassment stop….not worth it.
