The grand rapids soci security sucks. They use short staffed as excuse. I've been approved since February and have not received any money yet at all. It's ridiculous almost a half a year. No wonder why they going broke. Ms Welch should be fired.

Worked with Mr DJ Jones from the SSA
Worked with Mr DJ Jones from the SSA, Dade City, FL, actually the second time I have been assisted by him and he provides expert advice on getting SSA benefits! Mr Jones’ knowledge of the system is remarkable as he is able to quickly identify issues and provide solutions meaningful for the customer! Hopefully all SSA agents will strive to emulate Mr Jones and his professionalism.

After being diagnosed with cancer , and then ALL THE Cancer treatment complications, ( lmphyadema Edema )

After all the medical evidence and well quality of life,
the government will try to discourage you, they don't want Americans to live comfortably they want " the all American to honestly work like a dog and then die but no in between," THE Warwick Rhode Island OFFICE SENDS DOCUMENTS STATING IF YOU Don't SEND IN the document we want WE WILL DENY YOU, !!!! Don’t Let Callous Agents Stop You!
Warning for those about to call the 800 772 1213 National hotline. Be prepared for curtness and do not let it stop you from asking for clarification or to accomplish your task, especially if you’re disabled or ESL or even just shy.
Specific examples of failed conduct from an employee I didn’t get the name of, include:
Punitive Tone Regarding Errors: Whenever I required clarification or made a minor processing error, the agent dropped their professional demeanor entirely, replacing it with overt, curt annoyance. (For example, when I asked if there were appointment dates on Wednesday or Thursdays, they dropped their helpful tone and instantly demanded “which week,” and acted incredulous for whatever reason. Not only was the question unnecessary, as I wanted to hear which nearest dates were available and I didn’t need a particularly week/month, their shift was the weirder insulting factor). Overall, they spoke to me with a demeaning inflection, treating my need for precision as a personal inconvenience rather than a standard requirement of their job.
Hostility Regarding Identity Verification: When asked for my name, I proactively provided the exact spelling, as the phonetic pronunciation differs significantly from the English spelling. Instead of accepting this highly precise data, the agent became immediately agitated and curt, demanding the phonetic pronunciation without explaining why the spelling was insufficient. This was handled with extreme agitation rather than basic clarification.
Aggressive Interruptions: When I attempted to ask a critical logistical question (regarding the specific incoming phone number for my appointment) and provide the context for my inquiry, the agent actively spoke over me. They interrupted me with a seemingly catty "one moment," (or some version thereof) entirely dismissing my attempt to communicate my needs. The fact that I was acting so hurriedly in this place was so they couldn’t demean me with another curt response, as they’ve already shown great impatience before. But of course, my requesting data was responded to as if I were the one acting impatient first. I became annoyed in response to their annoyance, matching their tone in hopes they would not treat me further as someone who couldn’t keep up.
This agent's behavior was not just rude; it was a subtle but highly oppressive form of communication that punishes disabled, ESL, and struggling citizens for requiring conversational, explanatory patience. They don’t realize they’re the ones in position of bureaucratic power. Conversational treatment impacts those seeking help, and I cannot imagine the many who felt a subtle, seeded form of helplessness after interacting with such strange behavior.

Terrible Customer service
When I had to change the account for my direct deposit, I did it on line but made a mistake in the account number. They did not notify me that they returned my payment and I did not get a payment in the month of May at all. Calling is painful wasteful time on line what I fixed didn't stick. Went to office and waited hours only to get a very rude young lady who didn't want to listen. She wasn't addressing my problem and talked over me. I still do not have a payment for May and it is now June. They advertise about how easy it is to work with them. That is not true.

Hello America
Hello America,
I'm writing this review to let a young lady that works for the SSA 800 help line. Rosemary from California,I hope you get to see this. I've been working in customer care my whole life and so I'm very judgemental when it comes to how people present their self to me and I just want to let Rosemary from California that you have one of the most pleasant and professional and at the same time very clarifying mind and soul when it comes to assisting another by phone. Rosemary was very patient as well and I just couldn't have had a better experience as if it was myself talking to another. Who ever Rosemarys supervisor is? Shouldmost definitely give her a promotion and a raise. Thank you Rosemary for making me feel like I was important and I had your sole attention.
Sincerely, Rachel From Missouri
