I filed for social security online and it was no problem. They let you set the date and I put a few months ahead to meme sure they couldn’t dock me if I worked ( my full retirement was 66 and 8 months ) I was contacted by Mrs. Dylan’s and I’m telling you she was the nicest most pleasant person I’ve ever done business with. I’ve looked for a way to contact them and leave a compliment about her, unfortunately it’s only set up for complaints😟 I hope all of you have the same experience.

TRYING TO CHANGE DIRECT DEPOSIT, SHOULD BE EASY... UNABLE TO GET INTO ACCOUNT ONLINE. UNABLE TO VERIFY IDENTITY ONLINE. UNABLE TO DO IT BY PHONE UNLESS YOU HAVE A PIN THAT YOU HAVE TO GET FROM YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT. ONLY ABLE TO DO IT IN PERSON AT POST OFFICE OR AT THE SSA OFFICE BOTH OF WHICH CLOSE BY 5PM. SO IF YOU WORK YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK. THEY DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE POA SO IF YOU ARE TRYING TO MANAGE A FAMILY MEMBER'S INFO YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK. ONLY OUR GOV COULD MAKE SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE SO EASY SO COMPLICATED!

2 HOURS WAITING AND NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE. THEY NEED TO HIRE MORE PEOPLE TO ANSWERS CALLS.

The Wesites is horrible!! Have the correct info and won't let you login. Can't get help, can't reset, says I chose "face or touch" and did not. Nothing simple for sure. I feel sorry for older people with out a fancy phone/tablet, or a computer.

Well, the local office is not much better. Two trips to their office, three 800# phone calls, and a total waste of an afternoon and my BP shooting up to 160, and I finally got the CORRECT help. Total Cluster

I had gone to the SS office and stood in line to be seen. They handed me a sheet to fill out and hand back. Then told me they will call and let me know when my appointment would be. I recieved a text what day my appointment would be. I had called to make sure and possible change it and was told they did not show I had an appointment after holding for 120 min. I went anyway to the appointment and was told they do not do the applications in office anymore and will set up a phone application. Then was told mind you this is April that my phone consult will be in June. This is after I had filled out a form of what I need and took off 1/2 day of work to take care of what I needed only to find out it will not happen till June. I also tried to call to discuss my issue and had to hold 120 min before I talked to anyone. I don't know why they are so unorganized, or why everything takes so long. I also lost a 1/2 a day's pay.

Of course social security is the worst government mess. Besides the fact being on hold for a record time of 4 hrs 13 min and didn’t hit the lottery to get the call back feature 🤣 finally got a human. I cannot get online with my SS account for the life of me and was told to ask for the help desk. So after this over 4 hour hold she said sorry I can’t help u…really 🤬 in all the times I call social security, these govt employees are rude, unresponsive and unsympathetic, I think that is part of there job description. I hope these idiots have issues with their social security when they are not employees.

After enduring 207 minutes of the SAME announcements, (per the system, wait time would be ~ 80 mins) the survey automatically kicked in - with question prompts that were of no value to me as none of them related to my experience on that call. No one answered the call. Will there ever come a time that retirees will receive the help and respect due to them? May God help us!
