For the most part I like the two Spot on collars we have for our dogs, but they can be glitchy sometimes giving me error messages about not having cell signal (when the dog is standing next to me in the yard). Also there have been times when I've checked to see where my dog is on our property only to discover that he is outside of the fence, even though I did not receive any warning notice. They are pretty good, but not great.

We’re glad to hear that you like the collars overall, but we’re sorry they haven’t been as reliable as you expected. The cellular connection is used for app features like location updates and escape notifications, while the GPS system itself powers the virtual fence. Cellular reception can vary across a property, even when your phone has a strong signal, which can sometimes result in delayed or missed app updates. That said, an escape without a notification is something we’d like to investigate.
