Spirit HalloweenReviews of spirithalloween.com

I don't see why people give this hate. Go to party city and half of the stuff is on the floor. The day before halloween i didn't have a costume, I went to 2 stores and they all were run poorly. When I went to spirit Halloween that night there was nice line of people waiting to get in. The line took about 15 minutes to get through, and when you went in the store, there was still some stuff left to choose from. I had a great time.

They sold us a defective product and will not give a refund or exchange! I ordered an inflatable costume for my son for Halloween. We tested it before Halloween and it seemed to work fine. Twenty minutes into Halloween trick or treating the motor for the fan in the costume started making a loud noise and the costume deflated. I paid 60 dollars for a costume to work for 20 min, and I can’t return or exchange it because it’s after Halloween. Don’t shop here. You can buy the same thing on Amazon and return it if it is defective. Update (11/28/22). I filed a complaint on the BBB website. Spirit Halloween wrote back they would send a new costume. They never did. They only said that they would so I would close the complaint on the BBB website. That way it would look like they actually responded to the issue.

Ordered on the 3rd. They charged my credit card, I got a notification within a few days that the shipping label was printed and it’s now the 10th and my order hasn’t shipped yet. I called and was told since I chose standard shipping it can take up to 14 days. REALLY? That should be shipping - in transit - time, not time for the store to actually ship it. Also, most reputable companies do not charge your credit card until the order has shipped. I will not order online with Spirit again.

My friend and I love festivals and raves, and went into the store on the 25th and were looking to try on two one size fits all costumes, the employee at the time said they don't have fitting rooms at the store, and that because of this they have extended their return policy at the specific location. So we purchased both of them, we never ended up even opening them, and when I went in on the 31st to return them, the managers said there were no returns. I explained the situation, and she said "no employee ever told you that" multiple people accusing me of lying. When I pointed out the employee who told me this, she denied it, they all treated me like I was stupid for trying to make a return when "the return date is posted on the receipt and out front of the store." I was lied to and deceived, then treated like an idiot for believing it. Horrible experience and I will be deterring anyone who shops here from ever purchasing anything from here again. When I emailed their support they ignored me.

It is so easy to take other people's money with zero accountability for this company. Bought from store on Brook Rd, in Glen Allen, a strobe light of theirs two days before Halloween. Attempted to use item on Halloween night and found out that it was defective. Took the light back to the store the very next day to get refund or credit and we were told that their exchange deadline was actually a few days before Halloween and they couldn't take their own bad product back. Ridiculous! They sell defective items and hide behind unfair policies to avoid responsibility. I will never buy anything from them again.

I received the entirely wrong costume which I did not figure out until Halloween when I went to open it. I have been sending them emails I have done online chats and I still have not received notification on how to get my money back and how to mail back this costume. They asked me to send pictures which I did and now no response and it says my email will not go through. Sent them a screenshot again Still no response. This costume was 54 or something dollars and I didn't even receive the right one and I need my money back!

Costume’s zipper was broken. Store refused to do refund or exchange. $60 down the drain. Their quality is AWFUL and their customer service sucks. Buy your costume somewhere else.

I don't recommend this store or website. I ordered a costume on 10/25 at 10:30am the cutoff for expedited shipping was 2:00pm. I paid for 2 day air so I would have the costume by 10/28 for a party on Saturday. I got the costume on 10/31 after coming up with a quick alternate. The customer service is awful. Even though I didn't get the costume on time no refunds/no exchangees!
