I tried Smalls out on a whim, I believe I found them via Instagram and my cat absolutely loves the food. He's a special needs cat, geriatric, and has to have a very specific diet. Smalls ticked all those boxes. I supplement with frozen raw and sometimes canned if he starts getting a little bored (he can only eat the smalls turkey due to allergies). Many comment on the price but I find it comparable to the other high-quality cat foods that I can find locally. I've only had one issue in the last year and a half I've been ordering from them and that was someone put the wrong protein in the box, but I was quickly refunded for that. If the price point isn't a problem, I recommend their product, especially to anyone with an older cat or a cat with special needs.

Smalls has been great for both of our cats. With their previous food they were leaving a lot of it behind. It was a waste. Our little senior girl has a thyroid condition and is on medication and has struggled with weight loss. Smalls opened up her appetite and she is gaining and doing much better and enjoys eating again. Our gentle big boy devours all of his food now and 'hopes' his sister leaves a little of hers for him to 'clean up'. They are thriving on this food and we couldn't be happier that they are healthy eaters now!

I like Smalls for the ingredients they use and the overall nutrition profile. Even the price, when broken down by CALORIE, is actually attractive. Go shop for a high-quality canned commercial food, or even try making your own. Smalls is about the same per cal. E.g. Weruva paw lickin' chicken - 10oz can is 192kcal. A pack of smalls is 200. The Weruva is $3.75/can (the small cans work out to be even more). Smalls is around $4/pack. What I don't like and what I'm dinging a star for is that my cats don't actually LOVE the food. They sort of tolerate it. I think it mostly comes down to texture. The food is very dry and dense - likely to save weight on shipping to be honest. I don't think there is enough moisture in the food and adding water only kind of works. There is also very little difference in texture between their 'ground' and 'smooth' options. My cats do seem to like the new pulled bird, which is a blend of pureed food with some whole chicken pieces mixed in. I'm not at all happy about the extra cost however. Overall, I think it is some of the best food on the market if your cat likes it, but I don't think it is any kind of miracle food. So many of the bad reviews here are from people who can't do math or don't know how to read email. Figure out how many packets of food your cat(s) need a day, multiply it by 7, and then figure out how many weeks apart you want your order. When Smalls emails you that a new shipment is being prepared, adjust your order accordingly. You have a WEEK to do this. If you're getting stuck with too much food, this is a you problem. If your order arrives thawed, Smalls will fix it. I've talked to their customer service a couple of times and they've always been responsive and helpful. And yes, it is via text, as it is 2024. Not every small company is going to have a call center.

My Misha loves Smalls food. She also goes crazy for the broth when I add it to her food. She meows until I put her dish down. I haven't had need to use their customer service, I can make my changes on their web site and all works its way through as planned. I'm very happy with Smalls all the way around....So is Misha!

My cat loves Smalls, specifically loves the chicken and other bird flavors! We have been using Smalls for about a year now and will def continue to do so! We noticed such an improvement in the quality of his coat and how little the litter box smells.

My cats love the Smalls food. They are 12 and 14 and they act like kittens. It's amazing the energy they have. Their coats are soft and shiny. My vet is very pleased with how healthy the are.

We were in a bad place with two senior cats that needed soft food but the older cat had developed digestive problems and seemed to either dislike or be allergic to every canned food we tried. Until we tried Smalls. He can’t eat the fish, but he loves the other flavors and his poops are great! Gertie's favorite is beef. The staff at Smalls are awesome too. Very responsive to special needs.

My human sister is writing this for me, since I am a cat. My smalls food is very tasty, especially when it's warmed! It's helped my fur be shinier and my energy levels! Super helpful in making sure I feel super healthy especially after my hyperthyroidism diagnosis. Thank you smalls! I will keep telling my human sister to order more!
