SAFEWAY SUPERMARKETS IN THE BAY AREA ARE DISASTEROUS AND DANGEROUS. YOU ARE FORCED TO GO TO THEM IN SOME AREAS BECAUSE OF NO ALTERNATIVE. CANNOT GET CUSTOMER SERVICE BECAUSE OF STAFF SHORTAGES, MANAGERS DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. YOU HAVE TO TEACH THEM BECAUSE YOU KNOW MORE ABOUT SAFEWAY THAN THEY DO. THEE IS DEFFINATELY A DISCONNECT BETWEEN CORPORATE AND LOCAL STORE. I REGULARLY GET RIPPED OFF BY SAFEWAY, OR AT LEAST THEY TRY ABOUT 70% OF MY VISITS. IT IS REGULAR PRACTICE OF SAFEWAY SINCE I WAS A CHILD TO CHARGE THE CUSTOMER MORE THAN TE PUBLISHED PRICE. A DIME HERE, A QUARTER THERE, IT ADDS UP TO MILLIONS OF STOLEN LOOT FOR SAFEWAY CORP EVERY YEAR. NOW I AM FORCED TO LOOK CLOSELY AT WHAT I'M BEING CHARGED AT CHECKOUT, BUT THE CUSTOMERS BEHIND ME AND THE CASHIER GET PISSED OFF AT ME. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM SAFEWAY EXECS CAUSE. VIOLENCE HAS RESULTED IN THE PAST BECAUSE OF THIS. I HATE GOING TO SAFEWAY BUT IT'S THE ONLY SUPERMARKET HERE.

Okay. I've been trying to be understanding about the staff shortages regarding the pandemic; but things hardly ever seem stocked when I make my way into a Safeway--ANY SAFEWAY--and when they are, they are often mislabeled, or out of date--even when I am there first thing in the morning. And this is before we even start talking about the reputations regarding the local Safeways in regards to treatment and payment of the staff--everyone is so stressed, and so overwhelmed that they can't even tend to the basics of customer service--which was already a problem before the pandemic. Unfortunately, Kroger is failing in similar regards. My grocery trips literally take around 4 times as long as they once did, because I can no longer trust whether or not products are out of date, and this is on top of the fact that I have to check out my own groceries--because there are never enough checkers--meanwhile prices are constantly increasing, and shopping at Safeway actually costs more than just going out to eat, and offers basically zero benefit to my local community. There will not be a time where I return to a Safeway I gave Safeway its' chance to improve--but after having wasted money and time on several occasions for product that was mislabeled, or out of date, or just plain out of stock--that will no longer happen. I'm tired of my time and money being wasted just so the staff can get treated even crappier, and I am far from the only one in my area.

Terrible pharmacy service. I made an appointment to avoid lines and waiting. When I got there they said there take people as they walk in, appointments mean nothing. It was a long wait. Also, when making the appointment I specified I was over 65. When I arrived they said they didn't have any vaccine of that strength. They lost all future business.

My cashier was amazing. Awesome personality, friendly. Prima will be my go to every time. Highland Safeway

First time ordering from safeway delivery and they can’t deliver my order and telling me to meet them up in the gate or have it redeliver the next day. Because the driver have someone with her without an ID which is I specifically put an instruction that they should have an access on base because I know they do deliver on base. Ridiculous! Customer service is awful too will never use it again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Love my Washougal Safeway New deals every week. Just 4 U deals can save 50% off a lot of items. Great butcher and bakery.

Safeway Lone Tree CO. This store has on multiple times overcharged me on items - in conflict with labelled price. Today July 23 2021 at around 6 :35 it happened to me again. I stood like an idiot at the self-check until finally a woman came to help me. When I showed her the problem she pretended that I was burdening her with tedious job of fixing it. At the end scanning there was ANOTHER item mischarged. I called her back and this time she argued with me, and told me she was sooooo busy and this was interfering with her duty to help others. She then calls another woman who assures me emphatically that the price charged IS INDEED the club price (Without actually checking) I paid and went back to the salmon counter and took a picture of the correct price. I went back to her again, and she again showed her extreme irritation. Then she took me to a staff till where she couldn't find a way to resolve....muttering all the while. I eventually said I would just stick with the over charge and informed her that this store has done this to me 3 times. I was polite but firm. As I walked away some young guy cleaning dirt-bins muttered in a passive aggressive voice at me. I stopped and asked him if he was speaking to me.....suddenly his big pants courage dissipated and he pretended not to see me. I asked him again and and he just said "have a good day buddy" failing to realize that I don't have buddies like him. Terrible staff !!! regular over charging. Slow service
