I thought this would be an okay place to work while i finished up my last year of high-school. I was horribly wrong. Working here, I was screamed at by a manager who had a reputation for making people quit from just how horrible she was. I worked in floral and was alarmed to learn that I was the 4th employee she got rid of. The store manager did nothing to resolve the issues, even though it ramped up to just plain harassment. Which is odd in a place that claims to have a zero tolerance policy. Yes, everything was documented and none of it was isolated incidents. The store manager went back on his word many times saying he would deal with it. They soon asked me to "fill in a few shifts" on cash, and I have been there ever since. They call me multiple times on my days off sometimes asking me to come in with less than 20 minutes notice. Or they will call past 9 at night to change my hours for the upcoming week. The supervisors in cash are no better, constantly being rude and belittling. Nothing here as ever been dealt with in a mature manner and it is a terrible place for gossip and rumors. I find myself resigning this week out of desperation to save my sanity.

Horrible, liars. They agree online to a certain delivery schedule....but they change it, without notification, to a different day.

I don't have a Safeway anywhere near me, not thinking I have one in my state. But my card was used for 300 worth of purchases. Called safewY to see if they could help, and customer service rep.was very short and no help at all!!!

Absolute disgusting filth is what Safeway delivers. Nasty horrible company on a par with happy shopper. No wonder they went down the pan a few years ago, just wish they had stayed there. I have noticed that mcolls is buying loads of their stuff. That would be right as mcolls are known for selling garbage. Hopefully they will go bust very soon.

My Safeway store has good produce and meat. Most of the store staff are friendly and helpful. But I go between 7-8 am for COVID reasons, and very often there is no check stand open. When I am buying several bags of groceries, I do not like to have to self-check. The process is too cumbersome with a lot of produce and bags.

Overpriced and really poorly staffed. Items here are up to a third more expensive than other markets. The employees are about as low rent and unwelcoming as any place I’ve ever shopped. I asked a worker how to ring up ice at self checkout and she replied “I can’t figure it out just go to customer service”. So I had to make a second transaction after finding someone who knew where they keep the ice. The employee who assisted (begrudgingly with an attitude) rings up a $8 bag of ice. Seriously? Even their smaller bag is $5.

I am a customer for this store since 9 years, do shopping twice a week with no less than 150 in each time and when I go to the store , I go from work and as I am diabetic, I get use to eat something while I am shopping and keep its cover to pay for it and all the workers know me till today when I was there and I opened the pack of the blackberry that I bought to eat from , got shook by an idiot new worker , I guss yeiling on me to close the pack and not to do that again . I was to spit in his face but I considered the people around so I returned all the groceries, payed for that blackberry and sweared not to enter the Safeway again unless the quality of the people that it hires became at that down level.

If you have another shopping option choose it! And if you've got ANY other way for getting groceries, do NOT have then deliver. Ordered $70 worth of groceries. They were then charging $9.95 to deliver. They cancelled the entire order except for box of Oreos and bag of chips and one other item and wanted to deliver and charge that delivery fee. This was the second time that I checked what they had in the store and most of our order was actually sitting in there. They just don't care and choose to cancel the order rather than deliver it. The interesting thing was we also had a Giant delivery - everything arrived with awesome attitude and a smile Amazon/WholeFoods - Delivered and left early with everything there ShopRite - Pickup....and guess what? They had the complete order as well. Again, other options - choose them. Why pay extra and not even get your order?
