Rula.com has been fantastic for my mental health needs in addition to my therapist, Lori McRight. Since leaving my job due to excessive stress, I’ve chosen to work with Lori McRight, and she has truly helped me navigate life as it is today. Lori has supported me through exploring new job ideas, identifying and managing depression, ADHD, and strengthening my relationships with my family. She even offered support and guidance to people in my circle while maintaining complete confidentiality — something I deeply respect and appreciate. Lori stands out for her honesty, flexibility, and down‑to‑earth style. She has stayed true to everything described in her Rula bio, from her humor and warmth to her personalized approach. I especially appreciate her openness to me using my iPad for note‑taking during sessions — something past therapists discouraged. This reflects her trust, adaptability, and genuine commitment to helping clients process information in ways that work best for them. Her availability also makes a huge difference. While I was employed, I worked late nights and weekends. She has been accommodating of my ever-changing schedule. Life happens for both of us and, Lori always manages to find a time that works. In therapy, she balances modern techniques like CBT and EMDR with faith‑based discussions when helpful — always respectfully, without judgment or pressure as we do differ in philosophies and yes, she definitely brings that “Southern sass” she mentions in her bio, with expressions like “this, that, and a third” or “bless your heart”. The added warmth and humor to her sessions allow me to let down my guards and insecurities to proceed with my optimal growth. Overall, Lori has been an incredible ally. She provides a safe, supportive space to do meaningful work, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who’s real, compassionate, and refreshingly human.

My therapist has helped me approach my life with a more holistic and balanced perspective mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Through her guidance, I’ve learned how to better understand myself, regulate my emotions, and move through life with more awareness and intention. This work has supported not just my mental health, but my overall sense of well-being, and I’m truly grateful for it.

Rula is unbelievably careless considering that they’re dealing with people’s mental health. I was referred to a psychiatrist and Rula sent me a link to schedule. I scheduled the earliest I could which was 3 weeks away (less than ideal because I was already hypomanic and needed mood stabilizers). The psychiatrist cancelled a few days before the appointment, which put the onus on me to reschedule. The next available appointment was 2 weeks after the initial appointment, over a month away from when I initially needed help. I tried calling customer service to see if they could put me on any kind of waitlist so I could get help sooner, and instead they cancelled everything and told me I had to go through my insurance and that the initial scheduling was an error. So they wasted weeks of my time and had the provider not canceled that appointment, I assume I would have been charged outside of my insurance. Now I’m going through another hypomanic episode and have to wait an additional 3 weeks to get help. Rula should be avoided at all costs.

I found their online platform very easy to use. I found a therapist who specializes in what I needed and scheduling appointments is easy. I also really appreciate that once you register, you are directed to care providers who are covered by your insurance. I had been thinking to go private, but when one of my colleagues said - why - you should use our insurance for therapy - I saved so much money using Rula because my provider takes my insurance.

As soon as my provider got me started with my therapist a series of appts were automatically booked so that I would have weekly appts and not have any gaps in treatment
