In setting up an account I could not get service for several weeks. They said they would deliver the bins on the 14th but that is the day they are picked up to empty. So my actual use of them will not be for another week for trash and 2 weeks for the ever growing pile of boxes and other recycle items. It is difficult to find a phone number for customer service as they expect you to use their web site and figure it out for yourself. One other thing, the recycle will only take what fits in the bin. That is poor service as someone who just moved in I have a zillion cardboard boxes to store and break down before I can get rid of them all. My last service picked up things that did not fit in the bin as well so that will be missed.

A contract for trash hauling services was signed for a base amount of $122.64 on 4/10/2025 which is a stable rate for 36 months irregardless of additional fees which I was informed was variable. In July of 2025 the base rate was increased to $149.87 and again in June 2026 to $194.83. The base rate has increased significantly without notice and violates the terms of the contract which invalidates the contract. I advise anyone doing business with Republic to keep track of your base charge. Still i am unable to cancel the contract or collect on overcharge. This is an unethical company and I would advise using someone else.

Can someone please explain to me why a trash company needs sales reps? To cancel your service, you need to call during business hours and wait on hold for 30 minutes, then get transferred to different departments, explaining that you moved out to five different people. But if you wanna sign up online or enroll in automatic payments, that takes no time at all. Absolutely reprehensible; This business practice should be outlawed!

Republic Services is engaging in predatory pricing and deceptive retention practices against legacy customers. I was originally a customer of Randy's Environmental Services before Republic bought them out. Because I trusted the service, I had the account enrolled in autopay. Republic completely exploited that consumer trust by slowly creeping my regular residential trash service charge up by 83.7% over the last two years—exploding from $99.93 in September 2024 to $183.58 for September 2026 for the exact same service. An audit of my past 24 months of billing shows they quietly inflated my automated payments to extract an extra $270.92 in unauthorized overcharges above my baseline rate. This is a systemic company pattern of squeezing acquired customers; my father's bill at his house was jacked up even worse after the buyout, hitting an astronomical $248 for basic service. We should both be getting full refunds for this blatant price creeping that went unnoticed due to automatic drafting. When I tried to cancel, I found it impossible to locate an online cancellation option—and as someone who works in tech and SaaS products, that seems purposeful. This dark pattern forces legacy customers who manage their accounts online to call a high-friction phone line or pushes them to a "Sales Department" to close accounts , directly subverting the core consumer protection standards established under the FTC’s "Click-to-Cancel" framework. I submitted a written cancellation notice via email, explicitly restricted all communication to email-only. Customer service replied stating they "cannot process cancellations" and directed me to call their Sales Department, then automated a notice saying an "Account Manager" will call me. They are intentionally planning to bypass my written email-only directive just to force a high-pressure retention call. I am filing formal complaints with the FTC, the City of Corcoran MN, and the Minnesota Attorney General. Avoid this company.

We paid 944 for 3 months pickup of trash and recycling . They keep adding costs. Can’t get them to pick it up . Was supposed to be last Tuesday and it is now Saturday . Had to fill out a missed pickup report each day and they are always enroute . They would say today at latest tomorrow but that was a lie. So the trash is still on the road like the rest of their customers on our street and no hope of them coming. Now they are saying it is the holiday so not till Tuesday. I can’t switch soon enough . I heard they will not pick up the containers and will keep charging me . Horrible!!!!

I had service with Republic for years but it was under a previous residents name. He canceled the service. I paid to resume service on August 11 and was sent an email saying the container would be dropped of on August 18 for pickup on the 19th. It was not delivered. I called Republic on the 21st and was told they had no record of me restarting my service. I gave them the confirmation number for my payment and then they found it but said it had not be processed yet and they would get it done and I should have the container on the 25th and pickup on the 26th. Again there was no container delivered on the 25th so I called again. At that point I was told they did not service my area even though I had used there service for years and it had only been a week or so since my service was canceled. The representative then told me that they would have someone call me within 24 hours and get the problem resolved. They did not call me. I called them back on the 28th and was told that my payment had been refunded to me on the 25th and there was no active account. I checked my bank account and there was a refund for my initial payment but I had not been notified in any way about the refund. That representative then started a new account and said the container would be delivered on September 1st for pickup on the 2nd but then changed it to drop of on the 2nd. I told her that pickup in my area would be on the 2nd and that would mean I would go another week without service she said I could put two 30 gallon bags out and they would pick it up when they dropped off the container. Well the container was finally dropped of on the 2nd but the 2 bags I had put out for pickup were still sitting there. Literally within a foot of where they dropped the container. This is now Labor day weekend so they will pick it up on a Thursday instead of Wednesday. My first pickup will be September 10 when my initial payment was made on August 11.

Very poor service, missed and late pickups. I canceled my account in June and I still haven’t received my refund.

We had a trash service that got bought out. The new company kept adding fees, so we cancelled. We signed up with Republic, and at first everything was ok. Then we got our second bill, and they added a $65.00 surcharge, for an overstuffed dumpster. I called them rather upset, and they sent me a picture of "my" dumpster. The picture was NOT our dumpster, so I sent them a picture of our dumpster. I told them to add a fee, and their treatment of a new customer was not right. I finally got them to drop the extra fee. What a great way to treat a new customer.
