Awful, booked a car in the UK for a resident from aboard, the system automatically pre-fills the residency country based on the IP address, which resulted in us needing proof of address in the UK to pick up the car. Clearly that was impossible. Would not offer a refund unless another booking was made, which was more expensive and charged to the UK card in foreign currency, incurring further charges for the conversion rates, etc. Absolutely diabolical! Ended up having a booking through these con artists with Budget, had we gone to Budget directly, we would have not had this issue in the first place as they don't take the liberty to guess your residency!

Bad and disappointing service! We hired a "rentalcars" car in Romania, in a agency called Premium. This is a bunch of crooks and cheaters, who are doing everything in their power to realize the deposit, with baseless and baseless claims. We were obliged to return a seemingly unclean car. When we returned to Israel, we did not receive any help from rentalcars, even though we sent pictures proving that we had returned a clean and rinsed vehicle. We heard stories like "You can not be sure when your photos were taken." Even when we sent a folder of pictures with a date and place of photo - they claimed that in their software the pictures could not be uploaded. In short - a shameful and disappointing service. We will not rent more cars through them.

I booked a car through Rentalcars.com. The rental company was Avis who charged me a refuelling fee even though I returned the car full. I had a receipt to prove this which I sent to rentalcars.com which the request to have this charge refunded since I had obvious proof this charge was unauthorised and was essentially theft. I received an email response saying they were looking into my claim which was positive but since then (4 weeks later) I have heard nothing despite my weekly emails asking for updates.

Once I had booked my car, Rentalcars.com sent me the booking confirmation voucher and on it, it quite clearly stated that I could use my Debit card as a deposit to collect the vehicle. However, once I arrived to collect the car they said that Debit cards are not accepted and this resulted in me paying an additional 206-euro. Despite being written in black and white, Rentalcars.com would not accept any responsibility whatsoever. This company, are in my view a complete disgrace to their profession, devoid of integrity and should be avoided at all costs.

DO NOT book a car with Rentalcars.com, it is a scam. They do not communicate with car hiring companies. We booked a station wagon car in Italy, full coverage, also provided flight details. Our flight was 1.5h delayed, when we got to the desk they had no car, provided us a 8-seater instead (!), and we had to pay $400 additionally for insurance. Total scam. Do not make the same mistake.

Don't rent from rentalcar.com, service is bad, third party. you can't reach them on the phone. i will avoid them and go with normal american company. They change me for one day, which i called and inform the rental company, i won't be able to pickup 24 hours prior. NEVER AGAIN. NOT A COMPANY IN USA.

Stole money from our creditcard. We tryed to rent a car on the homepage. It never went through and then they stole money and will not pay it back!

We Went through Rentalcars and was given a death trap hired from Green Motion on 12 April for a week for a family of five holidaying in Scotland. We went through all the procedures signing out the car. I noticed the damage to the front nearside wheel which was marked on the paper work too and I also took pictures and video as suggested by their advertising video. After leaving the car hire centre and joining the M8 motorway an air pressure warning light came on to check the tyre pressure then went off. The following Morning the near side front tyre was completely flat so I had to change the tyre with the spare not great thing to do on holiday! I called the Glasgow car centre and advised of the flat tyre and given it was a space saver replacement/ spare tyre it would be best to bring the car back to Glasgow. On the return of the car to the car hire centre in Glasgow a check was done and I was advised that I would have to pay for a new tyre and a new alloy wheel totally £578!! as the wheel was cracked on the inside being extremely dangerous to drive in the first place! I had no choice but to pay with my credit card they already had a large deposit which was not advised by Rentalcars in the pricing that you have to pay. From the original paper work noting the damage plus the photo and a video (can be sent too) taken before I took possession of the car it is clear that the damaged had already been done before I hired the car. I therefore requested a full refund of the £578 given the above and asked for this to be approved by green motions head office to resolve this matter before going any further. 14 days on this has not been resolved.
