Don’t even waste your time and money. It will save you lots of troubles if you keep yourself away from this business. I have never ever seen a business that treats costumers so poorly. Due to the pandemic I won’t be able to use the my week in Cancún. The lady over the phone was charging me $300 additional dollars to cancel my reservation and said that I had to immediately book another week picking a random month, without considering the fact that I might not be able to travel (that was with RCI Latan). I called costumer service here in the UK to see if I could get any better support. The lady over the phone was disgustingly rude and unprofessional. Bottom line is don’t waste your time and money with this business, they literally scam you!!!

Traded a nice Timeshare in Coronado, CA for a dumpy awful night stay at the Kuhio Banyon Club in Oahu, HI. We checked out the very next day! There was absolutely no parking to be found anywhere. We drove for 3 hours after traveling all day on the plane just to find a spot about a 15 minute walk to the hotel and we were thrilled to get that. RCI did not tell me there was no parking over the phone but of course it was in the fine print at the very bottom of the confirmation email so that they would be covered. The place itself was terribly run down, right next to a terrible Apartment complex with trash all over the place and not what we expected at all. We ended up dropping over $1,300 to stay in a hotel the rest of the time and of course our week is gone and considered used. We get nothing for our trouble and of course have to continue to pay all the fees, etc. associated with owning this timeshare. RCI expected me to call right away when things didn't work out but I was busy just scrambling to find a place to stay and wasted one of our precious vacation days just getting moved over to the Hotel. In the end, it is what it is, but my advice is to sell your timeshare rather than exchange it, especially through RCI. You just never know what you are going to get. Buyer beware because at the end of the day, you will be holding an empty bag just like us. Cheers!

This review is to let the upper levels know what is happening and why people don't respond favourable to time share I've been a member of the Bahia Principe for some year's and can't say anything negative about them we have always been treated with kindness and nothing was too much trouble so when they told us that as a member we could affiliate with RCI and use their resorts as well as our own Bahia Principe nor RCI have pressured us in anyway however RCI platinum weeks who say all holidays get booked through them now incase of RCI saying it's not them then please here is the number that constantly rings us at all hours and are making our life hell (01376435002) now can someone please help we like our holidays and we also enjoy the freedom that using this service gives us and now hopefully with some light at the end of this long tunnel everyone has endured start using again but it's not fun being constantly bombarded with these calls and we are considering seriously now looking at taking legal action which is not what we want what we want is someone to look into this and give us some sort of answer is this too much to ask

My family has owned shares for several years through my father. He had a lot of credits saved and booked a vacation for the whole extended family to California a couple of weeks ago. We all got work off and made plans. Today, he got a message saying "due to COVID" they canceled our reservation. He called the resort and they said they were completely open, but RCI overbooked by 17 reservations! He called RCI back and was told that it was a health crisis and they couldn't avoid it. He asked them why they took his money two weeks ago, knowing about COVID when he paid. (California opened up today, June 15, 2021, so it's a moot point anyway.) He asked for a refund for the condos we all paid for and was told no. He was graciously offered a credit that expires at the end of July (next month). If he wants it to renew, he needs to call back each month and ask for a renewal. He called back and asked to speak to a supervisor, and I was livid hearing the way they spoke to him when it was their error. They should at least take responsibility for their mistake and not blame COVID for their overbooking. How can you take money, then cancel a reservation and refuse to give a refund? This will be reported to the proper agencies. It seems a lot like fraud.

The resort I had booked for this year through RCI was closed due to Covid. My ‘trading points’ were deposited with RCI for 2 years for this holiday but are now due to expire this October. I can extend this for a fee of £120. Absolutely no goodwill at all to recognise I’m going to lose my trading power despite it being with RCI for 2 years. The agent I spoke to said it wasn’t their fault, but certainly wasn’t mine. Why can’t my point simply be extended to recognise the difficult situation we are all in? It’s just not helpful or customer friendly practice.

I have just had to cancel a week due to COVID-19 restrictions. We were due to go tomorrow to regional Victoria but restrictions for regional travel from Melbourne have remained in force. The person I spoke with was so helpful and assisted in making another booking a bit later in the year. No fuss or bother thank you.

Absolutely appalling - 1 month on a statement it states you have 6 weeks to deposit - the following month ). Live chat told they have gone - with no warning!!

My family have been members since the 90's and had great experiences until the last 5 years. Finding availability requires manually emailing/ phoning and requesting specific resorts/dates - responses take forever or don't come and always just say I've been waitlisted. This week after months of back and forth to try to arrange a trip, I got this: "We have no space to offer you in Belgium for the rest of the year. Space has not been released in Cape Town for 2022 at this stage." You can't book in advance because it's not "released" but if you don't book in advance you don't get anything. It has become impossible to make a booking. Add to this that half my emails aren't replied to, my multiple requests to get my online account set up have been ignored, the website locations are not all correct and the location filters don't work properly. The only thing they were able to do effectively was process my membership fee. Starting to feel a bit like a scam. Especially when after checking ~20 resorts for very flexible dates there is not a single possible stay - makes you wonder whether all the resorts in the directory are actually bookable.
