I have been a customer for a very long time and even purchased a second alarm system. Overall my experience with the company has been very good. Most recently however I have found it difficult to get issues resolved. I was told I would get a credit for purchasing the second system. Still waiting after two conversations with customer service! I had a question regarding my statement--my monthly billing increased. Contacted customer service who indicated they could not determine whey there was an increase. Supervisor indicated it was corrected--received statement and increase was still there. Exhausted!!

I have not been impressed with the "self-install" team. I have had to call twice to get items that were missing from my first order. Additionally, I asked to activate my account without all the items and was told that it was best to activate as one unit. Therefore, it still isn't working.

I have been beyond frustrated with this company. First, the salesperson basically flat out lied to me. She indicated that, despite the fact that I live in an area with poor cell phone coverage, there would be no problem with the alarm system using a wireless network because that network is different than the cell phone network. Holy smokes was that a load of steaming BS. In less than a month, I have had no fewer than 10 "modem failures". From what I understand, that means, during those failures, I am not being monitored. Great -- and I thought I bought an alarm system so that I could be monitored. Second, they must use recycled sensors, 'cause when the installer was installing my system, probably about a 1/3 of the sensors had to be reinstalled because they failed or the batteries were dead or whatever. Since installation, I have had 3 different sensor reader failures (or something like that). They just came out today to install a repeater -- great, another piece of equipment to tack to a wall. Maybe the repeater will fix the problem, maybe it will not. Third, the local folks are, for the most part, completely non-responsive. Since the sale was completed, my salesperson has disappeared, despite my attempts to contact her (probably pocketed the money and ran). The ops people only talk to me when they are forced to do so through the 800 number. Boo to the local people. Fourth, while this review is extremely negative (and absolutely should be read that way), the people who man the 800 line are extremely pleasant and make every attempt to be helpful. Sadly, I know this because I have called them like 10 times in just under a month of being their customer. I would not choose this company again if I was starting at ground zero.

Zach came to the house, installed the new controls...had to reprogram it all and it has worked fine! Great job..

We've always had exemplary service (20+ years' worth!) from Protection 1 in San Francisco so that is why we chose to go with them again when we purchased our vacation condo near Palm Springs. Service calls, while rarely needed, are always responded to very promptly...and how many people can say they've enjoyed having the same friendly and knowledgeable technician show up for over a decade?!

The salesman, installer, and office personal were very professional, honest, and pleasant to work with. The monitoring system is simple to use, especially the phone app. We love the feature of arming and disarming the system anywhere we have our phone. Before you buy any system, you need to check out Protection 1. They're that good!!!

So far, Protection1 has been the best home security company I have ever had. Both their customer service and equipment is top notch.

Got quick installation that was concientious to me, salesperson was friendly and courteous but not pushy. Great price.
