Hi, I was planning to get security service for my home but could not decide because one had what I wanted but not all I needed so I put off doing it and just set up my own. Protection 1 has the total package, so I took the plunge. I am happy with my choice.

More interested in selling than servicing
I called Protection 1 because I have a security camera systems that needed improvement. I was assured their staff could help. After several visits to my house by several different people, my camera system is no more functioning than before they came. This system was my ONLY priority when calling Protection 1. They had no problem selling me an alarm system claiming it was the only way they could service my camera system, but once the alarm was installed, I've never heard from them again. I feel extremely frustrated that they promised a service, they have yet to deliver. Will more than likely be canceling my monitored services with them because of this.

They do not care
Used this service to have alarm installed at recommendation of real estate agent. I had to return to Virnia and alarm was installed while I was away. Was hounded by salesperson to sign off on installation even though I had not seen or been instructed on system. When I arrived back in Las Vegas and entered the house the alarm went off as it would not recognize my code. When I called the person who answered the phone was clueless. She could not get in youth with technician but agreed to have one call me. 1 1/2 hour later I get a call. Technician clueless as the type of system I have is not listed in there system. I am put on hold for 20 minutes to speak with senior technician who can not help. Finally agreed to send a technician in 4 hours. First thing he says is" let me guess you were never trained on this system." He then puts the codes in and programs the fob for me. I head back to Virginia and am hounded again by salesperson to sign off on installation. Then when I return I am called at 7:30am to take a satisfaction survey. Who calls customers at 7:30 in the morning? It took me 3 days to get conformation I would not be called for a survey again. If they spent as much time focusing on customer needs and service as getting what they want they might get satisfied customers. Also if you want to add or change a alarm code you can not do it from your phone or tablet only from a computer. Way to keep up with the mobile revolution. Do not use!!

"Shady Practices" & Overnight Delivery Should Mean Exactly That!
Having dealt w/Protection1 previously, and having a semi-positive experience-- I figured adding another residence would be seamless. Man, was I wrong! I was solicited by Wayne (the sales rep in the call center that initiated the order), and I agreed to pay extra to have the "diy" systems delivered to a location in the city that I was having my systems installed. I say "systems" because I was having two (2) systems sent out to me for my duplex's security. I scheduled them (and paid additional money for them) to be delivered to me "overnight" during the time that I would be available to install them. I received an "e-mail" two (2) days later explaining that my systems would arrive after another two (2) days. I promptly contacted this company (the day I received the "e-mail) and spoke Samantha at Protection1. She acknowledged the inadequate performance that Wayne provided stating that he never initiated the delivery for overnight -- even though extra money was paid (and received by Protection1) for this to occur. She granted two (2) months of service for free for the inconvenience (which I obviously accepted) and agreed to have the system overnighted. However, she compounded the poor service by not sending both systems. The very next morning, I received only one system. After wasting the FedEx driver's time in trying to locate the other system, it was determined that the other system was in an entirely different state altogether. So, calling Protection1 again, the sales rep said that I should "decline" the package that was due to arrive two (2) days later, and I would receive a full refund -- since I would not be in the state when it was due to arrive. This was done. However, after over two (2) weeks had past and having still received no acknowledgement that they had received the returned system nor having received the refund for the purchase of the system... I had to contact Protection1 again. After speaking w/Michael there at Protection1 (after fifteen (15) days had passed ), I let Michael know that I was trying to find out about the refund for the system that I never received. Michael (a "supervisor") transferred me to Quinn. As it turns out, (per Quinn) the "FedEx tracking number" that was associated w/the system that was installed --was technically supposed to be for a the other side of the duplex. Which is very unlikely since the equipment is supposedly set up for the system that corresponds to the layout of the property itself. He notified me that the "internal" adjustments would be made so that I wouldn't have to pay for any additional fees associated w/returning equipment that was already returned (per their own warehouse). I know it sounds confusing, but it seems as if they were trying to disregard the fact that a system was returned, wait until a certain amount of time had passed to then try and bill me for equipment that I never received. Had I not contacted Protection1 in a certain amount of time, this would probably have very well been the case. The next day, I was supposed to receive a telephone call back from the account management department providing me w/the information of the refund for the system that I never received. I am still waiting on that telephone call. Who knows when I'll receive my refund.

After two weeks, still having trouble with glass breakage sensor in my bedroom staying locked in and working.
Techniction has a service call to correct the problem. Other wise service has been good. Will respond after the sensor is operating as it should.
