Lots of alarm companies offer monitoring, and their prices vary wildly. Although some are not credible or trustworthy, one can easily choose by doing some basic research, talking with neighbors, or by reading reviews like these. One thing I can count on Protection 1 for is regular rate increases. At this point i'm paying roughly twice what I would be paying with other reliable companies. I'm paying $32 a month now. And since they use a proprietary alarm system, it's not as simple as just switching monitoring services. Be warned... once you choose these guys your basically locked in to accept their rate increases and paying their high rates.

After 10 years in our prior home, we upgraded the original system to the new Go! system and could not be more pleased. In fact, we just moved and had that same system installed in the new house. That now makes 12 years of service with Protection1, virtually trouble free. On the rare occasion when there is a problem, it can be fixed sometimes over the phone. If not, one of the very professional and competent techs takes care of it quickly. Lastly, things such as billing issues are resolved by just about the best customer care pros I have ever dealt with.

So far so good. Have been a customer for about a month now. WHen I call to ask how to change settings, I always get someone pretty quick and they have great at helping me out. Thanks for the great customer service.

I have been a customer since the Multi-Media days of the 80's and if I thought it would be so difficult to transfer my account again I might have not done so. I have moved from Wichita to Olathe,Ks to Bay Harbor Islands, Fla back to Wichita and never had this experience from self install, never had to do so before, could NOT get a tech to install to fighting about paperless payments sent to my email address like in the past. I DO NOT WANT PAPER BILLING NOR I DO NOT WANT AUTO PAYMENT OFF BY CREDIT CARD. I want to pay by credit card and MAYBE use different cards from month to month. I NEED A INVOICE SENT TO MY EMAIL ADDRESS LIKE IN THE PAST. NO AUTO PAY. I WANT TO MAKE MY OWN PAYMENTS.

Protection 1 has been a great company... offers Veteran a discount through USAA... Skillful installers that know what they are doing. LOVE being able to control everything through my smartphone. No complaints!!!!

Customer Service has been good, but my modem in my wall unit had been down a lot and I have only had the system for a couple of weeks. I never had this problem with my last company. I have received several emails saying things similar to this: MURDOCK's Home: The Panel has not responded since 5:30 pm on Friday, September 2 2016. Fix the technical problems and everything is great. If they can't be fixed, well...protection is the entire reason to do business with your company. If I can't keep my family protected round the clock, then there is no reason to keep the business relationship long term.

The service has been great and people working with the company is very helpful and respectful whenever you have a problem.

I'm 60 years old and not as computer savvy as I would like to be but Protection1 talked me through set-up and installation of my security system. I am very pleased with the customer service (it is stellar!) and the security package I chose. Wait time on the phone with customer service was just a blink!
