Be really careful. I'm leaving this so others are informed, as I wish I had been. I started using Prose's shampoo and conditioner sometime last year. Within maybe a month, I noticed my hair massively started falling out. Like 2-3x what I'd normally lose in a day, just washing down the drain. It took me a while to put it together, but I realized the timing matched up with when I switched to Prose. As a test, I stopped using it, and the hair loss stopped pretty quickly. But in that period that I had stopped using Prose, I accidentally came off the account billing pause and got charged for another set. They were kind enough to give me a refund when I explained it was making my hair fall out, but they also wrote a really long email about how high quality their ingredients are and that hair loss is often because of stress or medical conditions, etc. I was grateful for the refund, and they let me keep the product (as unwanted as it was), but I left the interaction feeling like I was crazy. I had been going through stress at work, so I started questioning myself. I just put the shampoo in the cabinet and didn't use it. Well, about a month ago, I ran out of shampoo so resorted to what I had in the cabinet, the Prose. The lingering doubt that I was crazy made me feel like it was okay to try again. I kept using it, and a couple weeks in, my hair started falling out like crazy again! And I'm not under any particular stress this time. Now I see that TONS of people are complaining about the same exact thing. I wish I had known that this was such a common problem. I feel so dumb not just trusting my instincts and my experience from the first time. Maybe it works for some people, but just do your research and know that it might not be right for you! I'd give them 1 star, but the customer service was nice, and the product made my hair look nice (until it started falling out).

Great lather and both the shampoo & conditioner seemed to rinse clean. After every use, however, my curls were frizzy when wet and dried to a ball of frizz. I tried the shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, and curl creme. Wouldn't recommend any of them. Too expensive for the results. I did use the subscription feature and had no trouble canceling.

Cancelation was horrible. Their products do not work. Made my hair even drier and not shiny or smooth like they claim.

Shortly after starting to routinely use my customized shampoo and curl cream, my white hair turned an odd, ugly beige color. Now, it's damaged from using clarifying shampoo regularly to try and return to my natural white/grey hair. I have a haircut scheduled to cut off the worst of the discoloration on the ends. It was almost impossible to find where to cancel my subscription on their site. It was buried in a labyrinth of links. When I missed an alert on my phone to continuously skip orders with an unwanted order on the way, I recruited a younger family member to help me find the information needed to cancel my subscription. For people like me who are older and not as internet savvy as others, the built in difficulty to cancel a subscription feels like a devious attempt to keep subscriptions going whether a person wants them or not. It was interesting that on the cancellation page, there was a field for feedback that disappeared when the cancel option was pressed. I wanted to offer feedback from my experience with the product I received. Without that option, I decided to share my experience through the review process.

Prose was the first "fancy" shampoo I tried and I found that it made my hair really flat and heavy. I don't think I even finished the shampoo before looking for something else. Bottles were small for the price. Frangrances were okay. Meh overall. For that price, try Function of Beauty

Bad, especially with Sabine. Didn’t warn me about upcoming subscription I didn’t even know I had, because their 1278 steps to cancel turned into a many month pause so they could surprise me with a big charge when I didn’t expect it. Sabine basically told me to kick rocks. Literally never order from them idk what to say

I really wanted to like Prose products and had high hope. But after several weeks of use, my hair kept falling out in large amount (a lot more than I'd normally shed!) and small pimples started growing on my scalp. A few would pop up every day. I finally gave it one last try and my hair fell out so much that I had to clean the drain 3 times during the shower, b/c a handful of hair was clogging my drain. This is NOT OKAY, PROSE! After contacting the customer service, same questions are being asked over several email and I'm wondering if it's an AI customer rep or a real person? but I'm done & asked to cancel subscription. My hair shed a lot while using Prose and it feels matte like I just used a lot of dry shampoo on it, there is NO SHINE whatsover, besides the smell, there's nothing nice about the product.

Predatory subscription model. Sad cause I like the shampoo. They seem to literally hate their customers. Bye.
