After being told on sept 17th that I would be reimbursed after being charged again on Sept 15th for a plan I canceled and got a confirmation from Prose on August 7th.. I still haven't got any money back.. the person who's dealing with my request (brent) keeps lying saying reimbursement was done but refuse to provide me with any proof of reimbursement in their system.. I now filled a complaint and started the process with a lawyer... I put 1 star because I can't put 0

**A ZERO TO NEGATIVE ONE STAR REVIEW** I thought the idea of having a shampoo and conditioner specially made according to my personal needs was a great idea, BUT IT WASN’T. I have emailed these people numerous times but I’m not able to get a resolution. Their products INCREASED THE DRYNESS AND FLAKES ON MY SCALP, IRRITATED MY SCALP, BLISTERED MY SCALP AND CAUSED MY HAIR TO FALL OUT. The products also did not do what they proclaimed to do. My hair felt like straw and held a heavy film that I could not remove. I have tried so many times to get them to refund my money but I haven’t had any luck. I have copies of my emails which I will forward to the BBB but THIS PLACE SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. Oh, and there is no working phone number to actually talk with a representative. Again. THIS PLACE/COMPANY SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. Something sounds like fraud.

Don't do it! I bought a gift card for my daughter but she was unable to use it unless she agreed to subscribe (even though there are options to purchase without subscription). There is nothing written on the gift card or in the purchasing of the gift card indicating the loophole. How is that even legal? RIPOFF!

Shampoo & conditioner, in fact all the products are decent. The issues are the cost (very expensive) & the size of the products. I’m not about to spend over $100 a month for shampoo!!! Plus my first order didn’t come with pumps to get product out, why? With the amount they charge they can’t afford to include pumps for the product?? I’ll happily stick with my Soapbox products. They’ve been amazing, not sure why I decided to try Prose. Maybe the incessant ads? Usually don’t succumb to those but they got me this time!!

I order led the product hoping to see a difference. I was excited and was hoping the hype was real. Instead, my hair was still frizzy and worst of all there was a build up of product on my hair which left it lanky and heavy. Canceling the subscription is hard and they don’t even warn you when the subscription is coming it just comes. I now have product I can’t use and I can’t even give it to someone as I don’t want them to have the same experience. Their skin care is awful. I’m an esthetician and again was hoping for good ingredients but alas it was awful.

Terrible experience. First, their product builds up on your scalp and eventually makes your head smell weird unless you use some other shampoo to strip it out. Second, I signed up for a subscription, paused it indefinitely and then suddenly got a notice that the products were being made to ship to me. I reached out to customer service to cancel it because I had paused my subscription, but was told it was too late because the products were already being made. This happened twice and I finally just canceled it altogether and will NEVER buy their products again.

Prose has some good products. I love the curl cream. However, their business model/practices are horrible. They run with a subscription system and it is really hard to turn it off. They don't email a warning that another shipment is coming. The only notification you get is that your order has been placed after you've been charged. I tried to cancel my subscription last week when they sent me another curl cream that I didn't need yet, but it didn't take. Or maybe it did, but today, I was charged $130 for some skin care products. Apparently, you have to cancel the skin care products separately from the haircare products. That wasn't clear when I tried to cancel my account. It's really frustrating. Be extra aware if you want to go with this, that you need to be very proactive about checking when they plan to send you another shipment. There was a point in the past when they sent me so much curl cream, I canceled my account and it took me a year to use it all.

I use their products regularly and like them but one thing I learned to do is to never actually keep my subscription once I order shampoo, I just say I want a subscription when buying it then cancel it once I get the product for the discount only because I don't use the whole bottle that quickly and need more time in between bottles, which they don't offer and I don't trust that I'll remember to snooze it and they don't remind you that another bottle is coming. Also, the last time I ordered a bottle of shampoo, I noticed that they charged my card twice even though I only ordered one bottle and received only one bottle. So I had to call my bank to dispute the charge. Really annoying. Their product is good but business model and customer service very poor.
