The customer service is atrocious. I upgraded to Otter Pro and the transcript for two recordings since 11 May 2023 is still processing. I sent screenshots, recordings and numerous emails dealing with an agent called Robert, who has not assisted me. I took a year's subscription which I paid in full and it has been less than a month since I upgraded. I have repeated asked for a refund as Otter is useless to me. and I have not received any response.

The service Otter.ai provides is mediocre at best - you need to proofread carefully as it is unreliable. However, my main complaint is the difficulty of amending or canceling your plan. They are relying on you not spending the time to log into several different sites, emailing, etc. to make any changes. Poor quality and I highly recommend people do pay for this plan.

On the workable quality of my first transcription, I took out a year subscription with Otter. These recordings were made in unusually (for my work) good conditions. Subsequent recordings weren't and the quality of Otter's transcriptions tumbled to unusable. Sections of speech were incorrect or missing. So I had to do it myself. I haven't used Otter since 27th January, yet have most of my 1yr subscription to run. In spite of repeated requests, the company refuses to give me either a full or partial refund, even though I have since terminated my account. Despite assurances from their representative to appeal their decision, this individual is no longer responding to emails. Am now attempting to recover my money via my bank. Their refund policy is not fit for purpose with regards to a service company.

Like many others on here, the customer service is non-existent. For months now I have not been able to link two of my colleague's accounts as the prompts/instructions to do this don't work. They were very quick and eager to show us the platform, sign us up and run away with our money but the minute I need help, the account manager along with the customer service team also miraculously disappeared.

I have never in 40 years been so disappointed with the service of a provider. This is an absolute warning. STAY FAR AWAY. Biggest nitemare ever. Waiting for 2 weeks to communicate with them.

Serious violation of privacy by Otter, with no response to multiple complaints. One participant in a (private) session I ran online had signed up to Otter and its default settings meant that it recorded the session and signed everyone in the meeting up without anyone giving it explicit permission. Incredibly thoughtless and intrusive and no sign of any recognition of the fault on their part.

My experience with otter.ai was and still is excellent. I'm very surprised about the other people's comments. Perhaps people don't write reviews when they have what they wanted. It improved with each use and I received feedback every time. I'm using it since 2021. Maybe people don't know that this is a robot, and you need to bring a bit of human input and corrections. However, it gives you also mp3 and you can add words to vocabulary. Compared to Dragon, which is much more expensive and gives you a less accurate transcription, I think otter is doing an excellent work.
