Extremely Invasive and aggressive software. You wont even realise its got into multiple colleagues computers without permission. There's another thing that behaves like this ... A VIRUS!! Also i got charged multiple times for no reason. after subscribing for annual at $99.99, i somehow got charged random amounts between $197 and $99 over the next few days again totalling around $500

Let me preface this by saying I've been subscribed for almost two years (mostly too lazy to find another recording app). The transcription sucks btw. Anyway, the price for my account is due to triple next month so I figured, let me grab my recordings before I close my account. Lo and behold... Unless you're in the "Business" tier, you're forced to export every one individually. Obviously completely unfeasible, and that's the point. 2 years of *my* recordings are inaccessible to me because they want to squeeze a few dollars more out of users. Garbage company. They used to have Dropbox integration for Pro users and silently removed it. They used to allow "bulk exports" and silently removed. Price increases occur every 2 or 3 months. The worst part is - you are locked out of managing your data in any meaningful way. Again, "bulk exports" are locked away for 30$ a month now, and are literally the only way to get your recordings back (unless you want to download every single one individually). Meanwhile, if you record on your phone - all the files are still there but Otter won't let you access them because otherwise how would they sell this worthless product. Absolute scumbags. Customer service team obviously won't help you either because it cuts into their predatory business model. Buyer beware.

The actual transcription isn't great, some conversations were ok, and some were terrible. It actually reduced my productivity due to having to correct a multitude of errors. Secondly, they don't make it clear enough that you only get a certain amount of interviews and length of interviews when you pay for a package. I only found this out when halfway through an interview. Thirdly, when you contact 'customer services' you get automated responses (although this is not declared) and when you ask anything specific or make a complaint, you hear absolutely nothing back! Update: since writing this review, and threatening to write more, I've had a response from customer services and a refund...shame it took that.

I paid them for an annual subscription to their pro account and they never upgraded me and will not answer any customer service emails or refund my money. Seems like a scam or a very poorly run business and tech.

Constant spam. Unsubscribed from all newsletters, even deleted my account, no way of getting rid of it. Next up is going to be a GDPR request.

Set up an interview in Zoom: it turns out Otter only transcribed my voice and not the person I was interviewing. No help with their manual or website. I am thus going to have to listen and type manually. Free, so I got what I paid for.

Recently was spammed by a customer initiated MS Teams call. Their stealth approach by not clearly notifying users that it attaches to all video conf tools is deception at best. It will spam all attendees Internal & External. Steer clear of any link associated with OtterPilot!
