I’m still trying to work out using the lightburn software but so far seems to be a good for e grasp far. A couple issues I have concerns with are having to do upgrades on a new machine. Not that they had to be done but if you’re going to use the machine for its full potential they should be done. Removing the original vent fan and install an in line exterior fan. This needs to be done if you’re going to do some serious cutting with the 60W and above. Was not satisfied with the lighting. One strip of lights on the moving arm doesn’t seem to be enough especially with the tinted plastic cover. Added a strip of LED lights around the outer edge of the cutting table. Otherwise should be a good machine

I purchased an AF2440 100-watt Laser from Omtech's online site with a 5200 water chiller. I received the machine and set it up as per the instruction. 1 there is a water leak inside the cabinet. 2 the autofocus doesn't work. 3 the laser image of the test page was shifted and blurry with areas of misalignment. with the image being distorted (I wish I could have uploaded an image) Called OmTech for support at 8:00 am on a brand-new machine been waiting all day for a call back from the tech support dept. Basically, feeling like I threw 6 grand away because of their lack of support and the condition of the machine upon arrival. BTW still haven't received a call back from tech support will update this as things progress.

Great service from Omtech, rapid response and support beyond the call. These machines are not plug and play, there is a huge learning curve with them, Omtech and the user community make that learning curve much less painful.

Y axs does not work properly, goes to half page and stops. To draw a full circle, end resulates in a football shape.

The pre-order process and product selection was very informative and and shipping was on time based on the original agrements of shipping time table.\ THe only reason I have givben a 4 star rather than 5 starts was that when the 130 watt CO2 unit came in with the laser bed completely out of alignment, the bed omn one side was 3" too low and the other side was 2" above the square position of the unit. I was expecting that the unit would have been QC'd prior to shipping to the end user. This unit had no QC'd performed before the unit was shipped. This took over 2 days to perform the necessary leveling of the honey based bed. After leveling the bed, I attempted a pulse check and found that the mirrors were not in alignment. This took another day to adjust the mirrors because they were way out of alignment. I have had several CO 2 las3ers so I was able to perform several types of alignmentto align the mirros but found in the end that the mirror 1 was the major isues of non alignment. I would say that the unit does perform per the specifications and documentation found in user groups, MFG w3ebsites and reviews found in other locations on the web.

The question I asked regarding "What type of laser safety glasses do I need to use with the OMTech Polar CO2 laser" was answered quickly and with the information I needed. Further I found a document from OMTech regarding laser safety. It is an excellent document and I posted it to the class of STEM teachers to whom I am currently teaching Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Introduction to Engineering Design (IED) curriculum. I will also inform them of the capabilities of your machine, once I have mine up and running. We have a network of over 7500 IED teachers and a little over 100 of us that are Master Teachers for that course. Your attention to safety is extremely important for the classroom.

Extremely poor and inefficient customer service. I bought 55 w laser and used it for 4 months and 62 hours on it and the x axis movement ceased. Sent email and called about 8 times. No one called back. Thats not the worst part, whenever i called i was told i will get a call same day( all 4 days same thing) but no one called, same thing went on for 4 days. The company dont even give a correct timeline, if they would have just told me that i will get a call on a particular day that would have been good. Very unprofessional and rude .
